You think the Royal Rumble match is the beginning of Punk and the Shield turning on each other.
Well if it wasn't for the Rock ordering for the match to be restarted, the Shield would have cost Punk the title. He knew the stipulation going in, so logic tells me Punk would ask the Shield to stay out of the match, and they just don't listen.
I think what could happen things blow up post Wrestlemania, Punk incests he wants no one to interfere in his match with the Undertaker, but the Sheild does anyway, cost Punk the match. Next night on Raw, he call them out, they get in an arguement and the Shield attacks Punk.

I'm thinking we'll find out that the Shield are in league with Paul Heyman, who brought them in as an "insurance policy" of sorts.

Did you see the look on Punks face? He didn't look mad in the slightest after they beat down Rock. He knew what would happen too.

Bam, been calling it since the Brad Maddox thing started, Heyman is going behind Punk's back to guarantee his victories, Punk will realise this and blame Paul E for his lack of respect and his loss of the title. Lesnar comes out. Bam. Punk/Lesnar at 'Mania.

Lesnar comes out. Bam. Punk/Lesnar at 'Mania. I like it. Does this mean we get face/tweener Punk back?

They evil/smug way he told the commentators he had nothing to do with The Shield makes me think he was in cahoots with them (he even visited NXT so it makes sense in kayfabe), shame as the idea that Heyman was conspiring without Punk's knowledge was more interesting. I can see The Shield costing Punk his rematch as they don't believe in such clauses. Then Heyman would ditch him and return to Brock. Then Punk truly would be left with nothing which could be lead to some interesting character development. He's a complete idiot because he thought that turning out the lights would fool Vince. To be fair wrestling has a long tradition of the "if I didn't see it then it never happened" rule, you see it all the time in tag-matches and Eddie style cheating.

I believe so, the WWE is lacking faces right now and Punk is the heel who even after mocking a heart attack and trying to make fans boo him at every event gets cheered regardless of affiliation. Him going to attack Heyman on a Raw when he realises, only for him to be jumped by Brock Lesnar would be great.

Just a shame that's it's pretty much a given we're getting Brock/Trips and Punk/Taker then.

There's still no way that I can be convinced that Maddox isn't behind the Shield. It makes way too much sense.

Mick saying something like Heyman only cares about Heyman, Pretty much everytime Punk would say anything to Vince, Heyman would start pleading with punk to stop or let it drop... etc.

He's a complete idiot because he thought that turning out the lights would fool Vince. That is an old ECW trick. Heyman. Not when the boss says that he will strip you of the title that you claim is the only thing that matters, then to attempt such a scheme is just stupid. At least pay off JTG to do the run in or something.

Yeah they should have had another trick up to sleves, instead of the Shield. Punk and Heyman are smart guys that I thought they would think of something else. I thought Rhyback was going to be heel, and that is how Punk will try to get around that stipulation.
