And Punk/Heyman/both are paying them to attack Punk's opponents, who's paying them to attack everyone else? Please don't white Hummer this into a plothole.

Maybe they do it on there own free whim? They attack ryback because of heyman paying them but they attack everybody else because they despise them.

Roman Reigns' aggression just can not be confined to paid assaults.

Maybe Heyman was paying them to attack everyone else as well, to make it look like The Shield really were just looking for justice.

They still have a cause, they want to take out anyone they dont' believe deserves to be there. But if someone wants to pay them to do it, then they'll take it.

Roman Reigns' aggression just can not be confined to paid assaults. I guess, but it kinda sucks if they open that door and then just ignore it.

Rollins is making excuses for them to attack people so that he has a reason to hug Reigns.

I took it as Shield really does it for justice but they'll accept payments as well like mercs.

What I don't understand is, why does it still matter if the Shield is acting on Punk's behalf or not if a.) Vince was going to restart the match anyway and b.) Punk is no longer WWE Champion anyway?

1. They attacked the other guys to maintain their cover story about "justice". 2. They attacked the other guys because (I think) every last one of them has been a World Champion in the company previously, and could be a potential rival for Punk later on. 3. They attacked the other guys because Paul thought it might be a way to curry favor with the other heels on the roster and bring them in as potential allies if he needed to.

Because chances are Punk/Heyman would use the Shield again in other title matches and Vince was just fed up with it.

I guess I'd just like to see them open the angle up. If it's tethered to Heyman, it pretty much has to die soon. Punk will turn eventually and Brock isn't full-time.

This means that the Shield are the evil version of the A-Team. In 2010, a crack commando unit was sent to a developmental wrestling promotion by a Vice President of Talent Relations for a crime they didn't commit. These men promptly escaped from that developmental wrestling promotion in Florida to the concession stands at arenas across America. Today, they survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire... The Shield.
