(Assuming he ends up in the main event vs. fruity pebbles again)
Just thought about this the other day and well Hulk Hogan of all people lost to Rock twice in their only ppv encounters.
Their first match at WMX8 was pretty much hyped as a once in a lifetime dream match.
I certainly didn't expect Hulk to lose in their main event rematch at No Way Out but he did.
So there's a small glimmer of hope.

I think so too. They could do a lot of things with this if they wanted.
Right now they're probably just thinking "Cena gets his win back" as the plan, but will go back and forth on ideas a bunch of times for the next couple months before mania.

If he did it'd be entirely pointless to have a rematch.

Rock beating Cena and getting dethroned by somebody else would be an amazing rub.
In a totally not sexual way.

Are there people that actually hope that Rock wins at Wrestlemania?

Are there people that actually hope that Rock wins at Wrestlemania? Fans of The Rock? That being said, I'm a fan of The Rock but I'd feel pretty bad for Cena if he had to lose to him twice.

I don't want Cena to beat Rock. If someone should beat The Rock for the belt it should be someone random. Maybe a heel Randy Orton or Ryback.

That's exactly how I feel. I like Rock, but no way should you be having the top face of the company lose to a special attraction twice in a row.

If Rock does win, it will be Cena's 3 straight main event lost at mania. There is no chance the wwe lets that happen to there top guy.

If Rock were to decide to stick around longer, then yes.
I know people talk about how his schitck is immature and out dated, but I couldn't disagree more. Its the Rock, as we have always known him and he is just as charismatic now as he was back then.
I understand the argument that WWE should be letting their younger guys run with it, but when they do get their opportunities here and there, they just don't have the feel of a Stone Cold or Rock. I know its an unfair comparison at times but damn, with The Rock holding the title I feel like it actually means something again. Punk was getting it there, but The Rock is someone I will always view as one of, if not THE best. He puts everyone, with the exception of Punk and Jericho, to shame when he has a mic in his hand.
In one night he made that title seem important. I loved Punk's run, but 500 days of him holding the title couldn't have convinced me it meant a damn thing. Maybe its the writers, maybe they just trust The Rock, he is just the definition of a main eventer.

Well, if your only goal was to completely shit on the current generation and make them all out to look like goobers, having a 40 year old beat the top face and top heel in the company in between films ought to do it.

Hogan could also have won both of his matches against Rock 10 years ago. I mean, the majority of fans wanted him to both times. It would have made the current era, which Rock was leading at the time, look like s*** though had Hogan came out on top. Despite the booing when he won it was still obviously the right call to have Rock win.
I don't think there was a problem at all with Rock beating Cena last year though. But Cena has to come out on top in the end. They could go down the Rock-Austin road and have Rock win again then have Cena finally win the third one although the IWC would probably explode at the thought of thrice in a lifetime. It's probably best just to let Cena get the win this year then he can move onto Undertaker at Wrestlemania 30 on the back of the biggest win of his career as he attempts to end the streak. Going into that match (assuming it happens) on the back of 3 straight Wrestlemania defeats wouldn't make any sense.
And for all he's done, this will be Cena's first real win against someone above him in the pecking order. He beat the Triple H's and the Shawn Michaels' and the JBL's but he was already a bigger star than all those guys when he beat them. Until now he's never had that huge win like Rock got over Hogan at 'Mania 18 or Austin at 'Mania 19.

I'm all for John Cena losing matches and I will definitely be cheering for The Rock at MetLife Stadium, and I don't think I'll be the only one.

Triple H lost 20, 21, 22 all in the main event, missed 23 due to injury and then lost in one of the main events of 24. So it's possible. Sure but to play devil's advocate, hunter lost those last 3 to rising stars/stars of the company who needed that one last big win to be established (Batista,Cena,Orton). So while he did lose it was losses that help build the top of main event. The 20 lost was a nice way to give Hardcore Holly a big title win but it was not the norm. As opposed to Cena, who lost to the miz and the match was not booked to make the Miz look like a superstar. And looking at the Miz's booking right afterwards, it did Miz no good for his future to beat Cena. Then Cena lost to the Rock who did not need the rub but that is fine to give the home crowd a feel good ending. Cena losing tot he rock again, will be just the biggest FU to the current generalization if some one can come back from about 10 years off and Beat there top heel clean and then beat this era's hogan twice! clean. So while Cena could lose to the Rock, it will be terrible idea.

I think John Cena losing to The Rock reflects less poorly on the current generation than John Cena being the standard bearer of modern wrestling for 8 years.
