Cena should not lose to The Rock at Mania.
At Mania 27, Rock hit Cena with the Rock Bottom allowing Miz to win, and the night ended with Rock standing tall. At Survivor Series 2011 Rock and Cena won, Rock hit Cena with the Rock Bottom, and the night ended with Rock standing tall. Last year at Mania, Rock wins and the night ended with Rock standing tall. Cena's got to get one over on Rock.
If Rock wins again, then who gets to beat him? He would have already went over Punk at least twice (Rumble and Chamber), and stood tall over Cena the 4 times they crossed paths on ppv.

Are there people that actually hope that Rock wins at Wrestlemania? If he faces Cena, yes.

I think John Cena losing to The Rock reflects less poorly on the current generation than John Cena being the standard bearer of modern wrestling for 8 years. You say that like The Rock isn't still in his prime. The Rock isn't some old has-been like Flair that should be put out to pasture. The Rock is just as electrifying and popular as he was ten years ago and could easily put in another ten years if he wanted to. The Rock comes back now because...it doesn't matter why The Rock came back but look out The Rock is here to stay.

Even I think having him beat Cena twice in a row at WrestleMania is going too far, especially if he's not making any more appearances after this. I'd still mark out like crazy if he did win, though.

I agree with everything you said as far as The Rock being very much in his prime and not being a has-been, though I would say that Cena represents WWE circa 2004-20?? and The Rock represents WWF circa 1998-2002. To me the fact that The Rock is associated with a certain era and John Cena associated with a later one doesn't impact my desire to see The Rock beat the hell out of that piece of monkey crap.

If Rock can get his conditioning up to a point where he can go 20 or more with Cena, I'm all for having him win again.
Maybe this time they'll actually have it have a lasting impact on Cena. (Yeah, yeah, I know. That'll never happen.)

Not like it'd be burying; none of the new guys are worth anything anyway... /sarcasm

It's possible if Rock works Extremes Rules, but I think it's much, much more likely that Lesnar beats HHH again. People are still obsessed with 2003 HHH's win/loss record, it's a decade later now, he's semi-retired, he has a conservative hair-cut. HBK was pretty unbeatable once too, but times change.

Are there people that actually hope that Rock wins at Wrestlemania? Yes, likely 90% of the WM audience. Just like last year. Rock won't win, though (and shouldn't). But Cena's not all of a sudden getting a massive groundswell of support.

If Rock were to decide to stick around longer, then yes. I know people talk about how his schitck is immature and out dated, but I couldn't disagree more. Its the Rock, as we have always known him and he is just as charismatic now as he was back then. I understand the argument that WWE should be letting their younger guys run with it, but when they do get their opportunities here and there, they just don't have the feel of a Stone Cold or Rock. I know its an unfair comparison at times but damn, with The Rock holding the title I feel like it actually means something again. Punk was getting it there, but The Rock is someone I will always view as one of, if not THE best. He puts everyone, with the exception of Punk and Jericho, to shame when he has a mic in his hand. In one night he made that title seem important. I loved Punk's run, but 500 days of him holding the title couldn't have convinced me it meant a damn thing. Maybe its the writers, maybe they just trust The Rock, he is just the definition of a main eventer. A million times this.

Remember when many here posted "If Cena loses to the Rock, it makes the entire current generation look pointless", then Rock won and it didn't matter 2 weeks later?
It would be just like that if it happened again.
Hell unless it's a new person rising to the top for a push nothing that happens at mania has mattered for years.

There's no way, they've spent the entire year making Cena look weak (well, by his standards), there's no way he loses again unless they plan on turning his character heel. It would do too much damage and even fans on the 'net would likely turn around from the product.

Yes, Rock should win.
Someone once defended Cena constantly going over as the idea that WWE should ALWAYS put the belt on the most over guy in the company.
Who better than Rock?

Yeah, then they could milk the Cena-Rock feud even more and have another rematch at Wrestlemania XXX. Maybe WWE will read this and get some ideas.

I knew Rock was going to win last year, and I know he's going to lose this year.

Well, if your only goal was to completely s*** on the current generation and make them all out to look like goobers, having a 40 year old beat the top face and top heel in the company in between films ought to do it. Pointing out that he's 40 doesn't mean as much when you counterpoint that the top face is 35 and the top heel is 34.
