Should I stop setting up overly elaborate traps to make him think that there's a hobo in his attic?

Pretty sure Shel Silverstein wrote an auto biography about this.

To elaborate:
1)This is the second time I've done this prank on somebody. I have experience. 2)There's nothing in his attic. He's one of those people who never opened his attic so I just booby-trapped it with some electronics to make some weird noises at random times late in the night. Plus me and another friend started putting out fake footprints inside his garage just to f*** with him.

If Hollywood has taught me anything, it's that this will end with your friend mistaking your for the hobo and shooting you while dramatic music plays, then he'll cradle you and beg for your forgiveness which you will give him in your last breath. Then your disembodied voice will give the audience an inspiring speech in a voiceover as the camera zooms out. Also, not sure how well he'll take the prank if you take it further.

Last guy I pulled this on reacted pretty well, so I'm not too concerned about this. Plus this is just another step in a pranking war that has gone on for a while now, so it's like whatever. I'm just concerned because unlike the last guy I pulled this on, this one friend has common sense. Which is to say I think he's gonna open his attic soon enough. I need to think of something!

Depressingly timed update:
Just got a text. He opened his attic and found the remote control car toy thingy I had rigged. Found it funny but prank's over now. Goddamn it. Prank over. Bah. Was kind of hoping it would go over as well as the last time I tried this.
I shall prepare a better prank next time.

You should especially prepare for his rebuttal.

this thread gives me a strange sense of deja vu. Pretty sure I posted here the first time I pulled this on someone too. Only that time, things worked much better. Damn.

Well, you can always do a "there's a hobo living in your basement" deal with someone else. Mix it up a bit.

Why would he think it's a hobo?

Admit it, there was no elaborate prank. It was Gary Busey again, wasn't it?

You should only stop if you aren't videotaping it.
