The likeable heels thread reminded me of this idea.
I think Sandow comes off as the exact same sort of smug jerk as Major Charles Winchester from M*A*S*H.
All he needs is a Hawkeye to really make him pop.
Who should it be? It can't be someone who's being outright mean to him, like most heels do. Just someone who undercuts him and one-ups him (in a low brow sort of way
) but never in a totally mean spirited way.
I think HBK's interaction with him on NXT may have been close to what I'm talking about (from what I remember)
I don't know that there's anyone now (or maybe ever for that matter) who's had the really sharp, quick witted, groucho-y-ness (it's a word, god damn it!) that it would take for the role.
But it'd be fun. Maybe a Derek Bateman would suit?
And on a related note, Santino is clearly the Klinger. I want to see him trying to pull crazy stunts to get discharged from WWE for whatever reason.
