I've been offline for a few days for a family issue. My grandmother had a serious heart attack and I had to take care of a few things in regards to that. She's been on a pacemaker for a few years and lives in a retirement home so thankfully, they were able to get her to the clinic they have there really quickly. They have great doctors and helped her along in her recovery and I'm very thankful for that. However, her doctor talked to my mother and me and said that she has pretty advanced heart failure and she might not be too long for this world. I was sad to hear that since I've always been close to my grandmother. My mom took it a little harder since she's her mother and I've been there to help her and comfort her through this tough time. It hurts to see my mom like that. We talked to my grandmother the morning after and she said that whatever happens happens and there's no point in being too sad or too upset about it. She told us that she's lived a long, fulfilling life and if it's her time, then it's her time. My Grandmother has had her moments where she's been down in her life but overall, she's a very optimistic person who takes life as it comes. I guess that's kind of where I get it from. I'm sad she's not long for this world but at the same time, I think her acceptance of the whole thing will help in the coping process once that time comes. All I can do at this point is cherish the memories I've had and continue to try to make more memories with her.

I'm sorry to hear about your grandmother. You're right, cherish the memories and the time she has left. She has a great mindset and seems to be handling the acceptance very well. I lost my grandmother a little over 2 years ago, and the healing process was the same; you're going to feel very sad that she's gone, but soon you'll start to feel better about it since you know she was optimistic, and that she's finally at peace. Whatever you need, we're here for you bro.

I'm sorry to hear that she may be passing on soon. It's wonderful to hear that she's at peace with it, though, and I think your attitude about making as many more memories as possible is a good one. I've been thinking about that with regard to my own grandparents - that time may be growing short, and we have to make every moment count.
I hope the rest of her days are longer than they think and are full of happy times with her loved ones.

SOrry for your loss. I know how much it sucks to lose a loved one. Lost far too many in my life. Hold the memories and know that she will be at peace.

I lost my Grandma 5 years ago January 22, and I think about her every day. Just remember the good times. It won't be easy, especially if you're as close as I was to mine, but just know that she'll be at peace.
If you need anything, just know we're all here for you.
