Well, share some you know, or discuss.
Playing Cataclysm right now. In every roguelike I've played, the controls always take some getting used to. Still, once you get the hang of it, the game becomes much easier. Anyway, I just realized that there wasn't a lot of zombie apocalypse type roguelikes. Cataclysm is pretty dang fun with how you manage your character, though I have to admit that getting killed by wolves can be pretty annoying.

I haven't played many of them but my favorite has got to be the classic NetHack. It's amazing the amount of attention to detail that went into this one, yet the controls are still somewhat easy to get.

I get bothered with how companies are using the term roguelike to apply to ANY game that has a degree of randomness. It's a meaningless buzzword these days, FTL is NOTHING like Rogue at all but still gets termed a roguelike along with many other games. It's practically Northernlion's favorite word as he applies it to any game with permadeath.

This makes me wonder, would Minecraft count as a roguelike? I mean sure, it's in 3D, but it still has many elements of roguelikes: entirely randomly generated worlds, resource gathering, randomly placed loots, a grid-based gameplay, basic plot (go t The End and slay the Enderdragon) etc...
I guess the main thing that would make it not count as a roguelike is that there are no permadeaths (except in hardcore mode).
