Outside of the main eventers most guys rarely stick around for long and if they do are they usually just going through the motions now or WWE don't have it in them to give them the old yeller treatment. There is only so many times you can get pushed and depushed or jobbed out before the ship sinks. So this list features midcarders who have been around way past my personal use by date. Below is how long they have been around. How many more months/years do you think these superstars have left?
Alicia Fox - 5 years Curt Hawkins - 7 years The Great Khali - Almost 7 years Hornswoggle 6 years JTG - 6 Years Layla 7 years Primo - 4 and a half years Rose Mendes - 6 years Santino - 6 years Yoshi - 4 years Zack Ryder - 7 years
Alicia Fox - I'm thinking she has about 2 years before she is released. Not really someone they could build the divas divison around. Curt Hawkins - Hes' got 6 months The Great Khali - a 1 year maybe Hornswoggle - Probably will be around for another 2 years JTG - 10 months if he is lucky Layla - 2 years possibly. They need all the veteran divas they can get. Primo - Another year tops Rose Mendes - same as above Santino - Tough one. I can't see his stale act lasting another 2 years so I say 1. Yoshi - Gone in about 6 months. Zack Ryder - Gone in about 2 years.

One thing to remember about Hawkins is that he helped train The Rock. He's got The Rock in his corner, and with the job he did helping Rock get back into the swing of things, I can see the WWE keeping him around for awhile. Hell I could see the WWE offering him a trainer spot.

All will probably be gone in a few years. Time for the NXT guys to enter now.

I could see Santino and Zack sticking around for a while yet. They're stil over and the WWE always needs over jobbers. Hornswoggle I can sadly see staying for the long run too.

Keep in mind, it took fifteen years for Mark Henry to be used right; if he had been released before two years ago, we would've missed out on one of the most entertaining heel title reigns in some time. It similarly took Edge and Jeff Hardy a minute to break through, both with pretty good returns on investment (would've been even better for Jeff, had it not been for his drug use). Out of that entire list, Hornswoggle and Khali are about the only people that have really lived out their use, since Khali can't really go anymore and Swoggle's chances of being used as anything more than a joke character are slim to none. The rest of them, even the Divas, still have potential that can be tapped into, given the opportunity and the effort.

Rey Mysterio has bored me for years, but I always realised why he was on TV as the fans always go crazy for him.
Seeing him at the Royal Rumble and how little reaction he got, made me think his time is up.

From what I've seen Alicia Fox, Yoshi Tatsu and the Colons are willing to do any job and even put over talent in NXT, they have a little bit of star power since they've been in WWE games, figures, magazines, etc.
Zack still gets some pops and can get wins on the B-shows while losing to a heel on Raw.
Khali will be around for as long as he can compete in the ring, same goes for the other big men.

It's hard to tell based on just what we see. If we judged based on how they are booked then Funaki would never have lasted 10 years and Mark Henry would have gone a long time ago for example. But they are useful to have around for various reasons. It's possible someone like Santino will be around for a long time. I imagine he's a pretty good guy to have around backstage as well as reliably over and a decent worker. And as said earlier Curt Hawkins might even stick around for a while just because he's a reliable guy with a lot of passion for the business.

Zack Ryder is a bit of an anomaly. It seems like they're never going to give him a real push, and he seems to be frustrated with his position in the company. However, WWE isn't going to just let him go because he moves merchandise. So he's basically going to be a cash cow jobber. Hopefully if he doesn't shoot himself in the foot, he might get a Mark Henry/R-Truth type of push in 5-10 years.

Yeah, Ryder is probably gonna hang around for a long time, and if he's lucky and manages to be somewhat relevant when somebody gets injured, he might get his break that way. They probably have no reason to release him. He's as profitable(if not the most profitable) as they could hope for somebody in the midcard. For example, Cody Rhodes is a hell lot more credible than Ryder, more frequently on TV and all that -- but when you average things out, he's probably making the WWE less money than Ryder is. He probably costs them more and doesn't move as much merchandise. Really doubt they are releasing Ryder. The only thing I can see happening is him quitting, but considering how he's apparently trying everything that's even remotely possible to get over, I don't think he's gonna quit for a long time.

Rey is way past his expiration date. The man is a shell of what he used to be, and really needs to call it quits for the sake of whatever is left of his knees.

Alicia Fox is finally getting good, I can't see her being released until the current crop of NXT divas are ready and as they're low on divas maybe not even then.
Great Khali and Hornswaggle will probably just come back for special shows, their health issues won't let them carry on forever (I assume Hornswaggle has some judging by comments about midget wrestlers in Regal's book).
JTG took the torch from Funaki so will be around for a while until he's ready to pass it on.

It got him back on TV on a more regular basis than he had in years and had his partner not retired and he himself gotten injured, he may still be there. He had bad luck

It would've been nice if Hawkins & Ryder were added to the Rock & Cena feud. Like each of them gets to have a Major Brother to keep as a pet.
