While director Henry Selick may have a very distinctive style, but his animated films are all wonderfully unique. His films include 'Coraline,' 'James and the Giant Peach,' and 'The Nightmare Before Christmas.' His latest effort, 'The Shadow King' has, pursuant to its name, been a bit of a mystery up to now. No one seemed to know much about it. Now, not only has the first image from the film arrived, but also its voice cast has been revealed. 'The Shadow King' will feature the talents of Catherine O'Hara ('Frankenweenie'), Jeffrey Tambor ('Arrested Development'), and Brendan Gleeson ('Safe House'). The image harkens back to Selick's stylistic proclivities, but I like the way that it plays with light and, well, shadow as well. The long-gestating movie is headed to the European Film Market in an attempt to acquire backing. Take a look at the image below and let us know what you think.
This reminds me, I still need to watch Paranorman.
