I bought the Wii U and am hesitating to transfer my stuff to it from my Wii.
Why should I or shouldn't I do this? I need pros and cons please!

Keep in mind you still need to access the Wii channel on the Wii U to access them. That also means you can't use the Wii U pad in any game unless it has the upgrade option (which costs $1 for the NES games that will have it or $1.50 for the SNES games that will have it). There also aren't any Miiverse channels for those games (at least, I don't think so), if that's any kind of dealbreaker.
Otherwise I can't think of any. All the save data should transfer with it, so it's not like you're losing progress. Also, since any Wii-compatible controller works on it, it's not like games will suddenly become unplayable. We've kept our stuff on the Wii mostly because we're keeping the Wii system (Wii U doesn't play Gamecube games).
There might (MIGHT) be games that don't transfer but I haven't heard anything like that. Data East and Rare had a bunch of their games pulled from the VC, and while that shouldn't affect transferring data I'm not positive.

Also, what are MiiVerse channels again? Otherwise I can't think of any. All the save data should transfer with it, so it's not like you're losing progress. We've kept our stuff on the Wii mostly because we're keeping the Wii system (Wii U doesn't play Gamecube games). So my gamecube saves stay on the Wii then? Also, I hate playing Mario Kart Wii with anything but the gamecube controller, but to be fair I don't really much like the game at all compared to Double Dash anyway! There might (MIGHT) be games that don't transfer but I haven't heard anything like that. Data East and Rare had a bunch of their games pulled from the VC, and while that shouldn't affect transferring data I'm not positive. I think I only own Mario 64.

Data East and Rare had a bunch of their games pulled from the VC, and while that shouldn't affect transferring data I'm not positive. I think I only own Mario 64. Having trouble with the quote system so, in order: 1. No. On the Wii U these is a channel that pretty much, in lamens terms, boots up the Wii. This will also be where you go to play Wii games on the Wii U. This is also where the Wii Shop games you transfer over will be. You don't need to be online at all to access this. As for Miiverse channels, every Wii U game (and stuff purchased from the Wii U's shop) has it's own channel where people that own the game can discuss it or help/get help from other players. The only way to join a game's specific channel is to have rented/owned the game. 2. Your Gamecube saves should be on a Gamecube memory card. The Wii U cannot play Gamecube games or use Gamecube accessories at all, so that's why we are keeping the Wii as well. If you have any Wii games you only play with the Gamecube controller, keep this in mind. 3. Only Data East and Rare games have been pulled. Anything else (like Mario 64) should transfer safely.
