...Each other that pisses you off. Man, that's a long title. Anyways, I created this thread because quite frankly my Dad is being a giant douche right now. Long story short, my Dad is pissed at my Mom because she gave him guff (days later mind you, while I was away at School) about him and me going to the shady liquor store around the corner so that he not I could get some more beer. Her argument was that he was setting a bad example for me. Keep in mind that I'm 20 years old going on 21 in 4 months and have been drinking with their approval for 2 years now. Because of this, my Dad has just been a giant dick to her all week from what I understand and is refusing to even speak to her for longer than a minute or two at a time.
Both sides are being completely irrational and it's driving me nuts. So does anybody else have a story like this happen to them recently or throughout the years?

My family has scorn and hate and jealousy for everyone so I could go on forever here. If it's not too much to ask, please divulge. I really don't know where to begin. I have so many stories I could tell that it would take forever. To really simplify it, I can say that my family is easily some of the most miserable people you'd ever meet. They cannot stand seeing anyone happy. Doesn't matter if it's a friend, stranger, or family member. My mom scans Facebook for hours just to have stuff to bitch about and if someone posts something negative, she's actually happy. My cousin, who works for a major bank in Canada, has looked up bank records of other relatives and told my aunt (her mom) what they have. My aunt then told my mom so they now badmouth those relatives. My cousin even discovered one of a certain world-known singer's accounts and told my aunt about it. So they both badmouth this singer because X has more money in one account than they ever will together. They treated this fact as a personal insult. So they now insult this singer whenever the singer appears on tv. It's kind of funny in a way. Like this singer's existence is a personal affront to their lives.

No. The best I got really is my mom secretly believing my brother, my dad and I and all secretly conspired to hang the towels in the opposite direction she did, which is to say when you fold it you get the two edges. We always hung the edge to the right, she always to the left. I think I was 16 before she figured it out, she was left handed, we're all right handed, so we naturally did things opposite. She didn't accuse us ever, but when she figured it out she explained she just thought we did it to anger her all that time. It was probably like 14 years or so.

My parents are sensible and don't do anything to scorn each other. Even when they got divorced ten years ago they acted sensible about it and didn't do things to spite the other which would have ended up screwing over me and my brother.
My auntie though, she's completely different. She's the most petty, awkward person I've seen. When she divorced from my uncle, she did everything she could to try and screw him over. He's a rich bloke so she did everything she could to get as much money as possible, trying to limit the amount of time he could spend with my cousins, threatening to ban him from seeing his kids if he took them somewhere she didn't approve off or if he returned them a bit later than usual...
It was pathetic. In fact, parents like that who after a divorce act like utter children trying to spite each other as much as possible are pathetic. Acting so selfishly and not caring that their kids are caught up in the firing line.

Jesus, they sound...awful if you don't mind me saying. I don't mind at all. They are awful. What I wrote also barely scratches the surface. I've had more trouble from my family than any enemy I've ever had.

Poor lefties... research says they die earlier than righthanded people, probably from the stress of living in our world. My dad's a leftie, and they tried to force him to write right-handed as a kid. He became reasonably ambidextrous, but it also gave him reading problems for a while.

My mom has taken my father's misdeeds out on me for as long as I can remember. My mom tried to paint everyone on my dad's side of the family as stuck up and judgmental. "If you do that at your father's house, they're going to think you're____." My dad's side of the family wasn't judgmental at all, but mom had my head messed up so bad, I didn't visit often. My mom also had a habit of telling me the strategic truth to get me on her side. If I talked about having a good time with one of dad's girlfriend, mom told me ab out a time where one of them did some backhanded shit to her. If I said something nice of my dad, my mom told me about something messed up his did. Don't even get me started about all the things she did to give me body issues.

She went a catholic school and the nuns used to hit her with a ruler until she learned to use her right hand. But when my parents are upset with each other all they do is sit in a room by them self and not talk to each other. No big deal.

My dad would casually tell me he hated my mother, that's about it. Like we would be eating, and if she left the table to get something "Son, Do you know how much I hate your mother?" I imagine those were rhetorical questions.

After my mother passed away and my father remarried, for the longest time, he'd keep referring to his new wife by my mother's name.
Scary as this might sound, the above statement was the NUMBER ONE REASON for them divorcing.

I guess I'm lucky. my family all love each other. only problem I ever had with family members was an aunt complaining that I still lived at home, didn't have a girlfriend or a full-time job, as if it were any of her business.

Honestly - stay together just for the children's sake.
If they genuinely don't want to be together - no one wants this.

My parents divorced when I was four.
According to my Dad, it was because my Mom was a horrible cook.
He was always good on paying child support except in November/December (he'd "accidentally" forget those two months, then pay up in Jan) and apparently always wrote "Blackmail" on the memo line of the checks.
