I'll just wait till I see the episode to listen to the whole song, as I tried listening to it, but it just seems like one of those songs that needs the accompanying visuals for it to work. I mean it sounds good from what I heard, but with all the talking from the characters mixed in, it needs the visuals for me. Also, speaking of the song and the amount of content they are cramming into a 22 minute episode, this song itself is 3.5 minutes long. That is a substantial chunk of time from an episode that is already looking to have pacing issues, IMO. "Best Night Ever" had TWO songs of that length in it, and they told a good story in 22 minutes. Not saying this one will do good OR bad, just noting. |

Not saying this one will do good OR bad, just noting. Yes a good SINGULAR story. This is two almost entirely different stories that they have to tell. Both the swapping and coronation could easily fill their own respective episodes(hell I can think of ways of stretching both to two episodes each, even, but one episode each would be sufficient), and they are trying to tell both in one episode. And as we've seen, they've had trouble telling stories that could have and even should have been told in two episodes but only being told in one episode this season. So them trying to fit two stories in one episode with a large time consuming song in the mix doesn't fill me with confidence. |

Have to agree with Koda here. I have worries that one of the plot points next episode will come off as extremely rushes.

As I said, I see these threads after all those hundreds of them more of a place for friends to hang out than just pony talk. So if you want to talk about something else, I am glad to talk to you about something else. Not following the show anymore will not mean that any of us will abandon you. After seeing some of the reactions to the events that will be happening with this weekend's episode, I've gotten some ideas of my own... And as I get more and more information, I'm glad I didn't launch right away, since what I thought was going to happen (Twilight being "ordained/promoted" by Celestia) isn't (the elements "Choosing" Twilight?) which could potentially turn the continuity I've established upside down (elements are meant for a group of six equals). What I see this saturday will give me more ideas thus while I was initially angry and still not 100% behind it, at the end of the day it's a show that inspires ideas. |

At this point, it is mostly the aspect that they crammed too much into one episode that dampens my spirits. It should worry - we've had a couple of eps late in the season that the pacing has been off/weird/rushed. IMO, "Keep calm and Flutter on" and "Games Ponies Play" were not paced well. that's just my take on them. |

The more I look at it, the more I think that it will be just the mane cast to have their CMs swapped. Too bad, I wanted to see the hilarity of the townspeople being in a bangle with their swapped destinies.

If this was a two-parter, MD, I think they could have pulled it off.
The Mane cast having random cutie marks of others in town and some of the episode dedicated to them just trying to find their marks while Twilight is researching/constructing the spell.

Yeah this whole ordeal among other real life stuff has turned me from "The Laid Back One" to "The Stressed One". I need to relax and stop myself from stressing out so much somehow.

Yeah this whole ordeal among other real life stuff has turned me from "The Laid Back One" to "The Stressed One". I need to relax and stop myself from stressing out so much somehow. You're not alone - I've had a crazy week or two (won't go into details here) so I've been coming here more often than not just to get my head back on straight. Friday was bad even before I headed into work.... ETA: speaking of, I need to be off to bed |
