Kids in the Hall.
Damn you Canadians for producing such funny, funny people.
I caught Are You Being Served on PBS and liked it. Monty Python of course and loved The Mighty Boosh when it played over here on Adult Swim. I need to get their series sets.

Every comedy I watch since I just find American comedies to largely be awful.

Just wanted to note that in my OP I meant "Peep Show" rather than "The Peep Show." I'm already two episodes into the second season and will probably be into season 3 by tomorrow. My favorite moment so far has to be at the end of the second episode when he is telling sophie he likes her. To paraphrase he meekly and awkwadly says, "I guess what I'm saying is if you can't handle that I like you then you can f*** off."
Also, I like "Kids in the Hall" as well, but isn't that North American?

Keeping Up Apperances is my all-time favorite.

I love Outnumbered as far as more current shows go but it's hard to argue against Are You Being Served?, Keeping Up Appearances, Waiting for God, Faulty Towers, and the Vicar of Dibley.

Anyway... Monty Python's Flying Circus.

Kids In The Hall, Garth Marenghi's Darkplace, and The IT Crowd. YES GARTH MARENGHI By the way, get the DVDs. The special features are amazing - extended 12" remix of One Track Lover with vocals from Garth, and one of the most amazing in-character commentary tracks I've ever heard ('I used to think they should call coloured women's makeup ethnic cleansing').
