I know the irony because of my username (which is my CAW's nickname) but honestly... I do want a serious, legit answer. What does real heart break feel like?
I've been balling my eyes out all day because my (long distance) relationship might be ending... it just kills me so much. I love him. I just talked to my mum about it and she hopes things work out but if they don't I have to try and not be as hurt and hopefully move on. But I do not want that to happen.... he makes me too happy and I know we can work it out even if distance sucks.

Like physically?
Like a punch to the gut that doesn't really fade for awhile, and like a piece of you is missing; because in a very real sense, love is like a drug. And I'm not talking metaphorically I mean literally your brain has gotten hooked on the endorphins you associate with love; and when that's gone that withdrawal is what's causing pain.
In short, it sucks. But everyone needs one good heartbreak I think to realize you don't truly ever NEED anyone in a survival sense. That's the part that's tough to get past, coming to terms with the fact that this one person only determines your happiness if you let em.
Best of luck to ya, I've tried long distance. Never again.

8yrs and then she told me those 8yrs meant nothing.
Needless to say giving everything into that and then hearing that from her..I would have rather taken a high heel to the nuts as I am sure it would have hurt less.
Considering I was with her for 8yrs it felt like losing EVERYTHING but still trying in some fleeting attempt to get it back and hold onto it..which I did for like the following 3 months , but then from then on looking back on it became less and less and the times I did look back on it I realized things I probably should have seen wayy earlier telling me it was not going to last.

It feels like there is a hole inside you, like an organ is actually missing from inside your chest. There's a kind of pain that goes along with it and not to mention a strange feeling of panic, of desperation for it all not to be real. It's horribly distressing and terrifying, like a part of your life is dead and gone and that part was the best thing you ever knew, hence the amount of tears your crying. Slowly you come around though, every day it gets better even if only very slightly. I found the key to overcoming was to move on, make plans with people and go and do stuff and move on and let life take you to new places with new people. It's difficult but not as difficult as locking yourself away in pain. I don't know if the experience is the same with everyone but this is the feelings I experienced. I however hope everything works out for you and you experience nothing of the like.

Almost like a full blooded kick to the guts that leaves you short of breath and with a constant pain in your midsection.
A little panicky too, almost feels like your lost even though you know exactly where you are.
Only ever felt it twice, when a long term partner broke up with me an when I walked away from a friend that still had feelings for me but had to move overseas for work.

The worst f***ing thing in the world, and it never fully goes away. Irreversible.

I'd also like to second the feeling of being lost but also you get the feeling of wanting to do everything you can to get back to where you were before even though you know you can't.

Irrationally so; you become convinced you NEED the other person. Once you finally come to your senses, you feel a bit silly about some of that.

Basically like a dementor's kiss, everything you love is gone and you just feel alone and want to do nothing but cry, it does get better over time but until than everything sucks

Love, to me, is nothing else mattering in the entire world. And that applies to the loss of it as well.
