..The Last Exorcism 2?
I saw a commercial earlier and it made me think of the movie "Mama" you know the style I'm talking about, dark tones, scenes where things seem to jump out or are all there for the sudden shock value.
Basically, what "A Haunted House" 'parodied'
I haven't watched any of these films, but so many of them look alike these last few years.
Just wondered if this style is as overdone as it seems

Any found footage movie in recent years. Which there are a lot of, because they're cheap.

Jacques Tourneur's "Cat People (1942)" was one of the first films to go for that atmospheric feel, including scenes designed to make you jump.

Too many to list some are good but for the most part they are just horrible even the parodies
