I seriously don't like how they are sooooooooooo damned elitist against processed/packaged foods.
I mean I get it, fresh food is healthier for you, but it also more expensive. Sure that bit isn't a problem for Food Network's celebrity chefs, but still the air of arrogance they have when bad mouthing the foods that a crapload of America has to eat(because they can't afford the fresh foods) just rubs me the wrong way.

What I don't like about the Food Network. {Spoiler} So we have a similar problem, then.

That's why I like Alton Brown so much. Good Eats is a lot more about education and being Mr. Wizard of the Kitchen than being a food elitist.

What I don't like about the Food Network. {Spoiler} So we have a similar problem, then. Most sensible people should. I vaguely remember him winning on Iron Chef like fifteen years ago and celebrating by jumping on his counter resulting in all the austere Japanese people agreeing that he was a disgrace. I could be misremembering that and if so, I want to see it happen anyway. That's why I like Alton Brown so much. Good Eats is a lot more about education and being Mr. Wizard of the Kitchen than being a food elitist. Nailed it. I learned more stuff that I can do with things I can get from him than I have from anyone else on that channel. Thanks for helping me impress the Ladyhawk on the cheap Alton Brown!

I've noticed that it all depends on what show you're watching. Jada, Ina, and the not-so-popular shows that air on the weekend are bad about that.
Flay gets on my nerves, too. I'm trying to avoid making a joke about climate change and Flay induced douche chills.

Bobby Flay reminds me of a pro wrestling heel. That's like the entire shtick of Throwdown.
His burger places around here are pretty awesome though.

I still cannot believe that Bobby Flay got a hot wife. $$$ I don't know that I've ever voluntarily watched the Food Network, but some show where it's like a bachelor dude whipping up ramen stew or trying to make a six pack of beer last as long as possible would be awesome.

He just has no patience for substandard equipment.

I will never understand the processed food is cheaper argument. I make gravy, mashed potatoes, pasta, sauces all from scratch. While I will say the intial investment is more, in the long run it is cheaper. 10lb potatoes is 3 dollars. Flour, salt, sugar are all cheap. I make very little processed food.

Yeah, processed food is typically more expensive than the sum of it's parts, just because it has to be to make money (either that, or it's parts are full of cheap filler), but if you learn how, you can make it all for much, much cheaper. It just requires time, which is something a lot of people don't have/want to spend on making food.

I have had enough of Guy Fieri's show... every time I turn the channel on, it's him.
I really really really miss the Japanese version of "Iron Chef".
