I love it, love it. It is absolutely current and a great way to get heat. My only concern is will Jack get the heat or will it go to Zeb?

It'll more than likely fall on Zeb unless Swagger's promo skills increase (even though he is one of my favorite wrestlers....he only seems to work promo-wise as a goofy heel).
But then it makes me wonder how some of the wrestlers under the tutelage of Bobby Heenan, Slick, The Grand Wizard, etc. would've been treated by the fans if they didn't have someone do the talking for them.

The gimmick is okay, but I miss his clean cut look and his spiky hair.
RIP Borderline Moderately Hot Swaggie.

I like it for it's originality, but I don't think it's going to get much heat. I mean, as long as you aren't an illegal immigrant, what they're saying isn't especially offensive. Honestly, I could see them possibly getting more cheers than boos in a lot of cities, but in general I don't think it will garner much of a reaction at all. I've got to wonder how this is supposed to pull in the Mexican market, too, since they.. live in Mexico. Who knows, though, they might get more extreme with their promos as time goes on.
Good call whoever mentioned the Gadsden flag being used, by the way.

I just want this to lead to the return of the real "Real American" and Hogan shows up and kicks his ass.

I will say that I'm expecting a Swagger/Colter squash tag match against Hacksaw and Slaughter before Wrestlemania....

I'm enjoying because it's a caricature of a fringe group so far removed from legitimate politics that I can't even see it as mixing politics and wrestling (of which my hatred it second only to religion and wrestling).
The Alex Jones insistance tonight on commentary confirmed it. It's not a "Conservative who is for immigration reform" character, it's a fringe isolationist xenophobe conspiracy nut character, which is ripe for mocking.

It's too bad they're helping ruin the "Don't Tread on Me" flag. That thing is awesome.

It's Dutch Mantell, Dutch Mantell's beard, and Swagger the parrot mascot who wrestles for him.

I like it for it's simplicity. It is current, true, but it's not original. JBL/Eddie had the exact same feud. Not that I'm complaining. JBL patrolling the border was one of the funniest moments in Smackdown history. Hope there's another moment like that one.

I'd love for it to associate with Cesaro's and his 'I love America' act, and they form a vague alliance where they're mutually oblivious to the Cesaro's Swiss-ness. It eventually takes on a Nazi slant, due to no other reason than Cesaro's capacity to speak German and Zeb's zealotry.
This, of course, leads to a Swagger face-turn, as a result of his inability to pronounce 'The SS'.

Its supposed to rally the Mexican-American population who are proud and hard-working, and feel alienated by silly redneck propaganda. The angle would probably work better though if WWE claimed Del Rio was a citizen now.

I think that Zeb (and his mustache) was a good choice to have be Swagger's mouthpiece, and hopefully this results in Swagger absorbing some of his mic skills so he can eventually do his own talking. Until then, though, it helps cover up that weakness... which is exactly what a manager should do, when you think about it.
Plus, Scruffy Swagger is so fun for some reason...

Can someone explain to me why exactly Zeb is supposed to be the heel here? Outside of the "faces not like my own" and other subtle racial elements, what he's saying is exactly the truth. I guess they threw the racial elements in because he's supposed to be the heel?

I guess they threw the racial elements in because he's supposed to be the heel? Because of the way he goes about it. It is like with Punk when he was touting straight edge. He was right in what he was saying, but the way he said it caused heat.
