Can someone explain to me why exactly Zeb is supposed to be the heel here? Outside of the "faces not like my own" and other subtle racial elements, what he's saying is exactly the truth. I guess they threw the racial elements in because he's supposed to be the heel? Oh boy. |

I guess they threw the racial elements in because he's supposed to be the heel? Because of the way he goes about it. It is like with Punk when he was touting straight edge. He was right in what he was saying, but the way he said it caused heat. Ok, that actually makes some sense. I didn't think of it that way. But I'll be honest, I love the Zeb character. I mark every time he shows up. |

I think this angle is the best thing WWE's done since the Punk/Cena money in the bank angle. |

This angle will only reach its full potential if the crowds start to warm to it. I get the feeling that WWE audiences don't exactly care about hearing political rhetoric during the live shows they are attending. I get the sense people will just continue to tune it out instead of reacting to it.

The gimmick is okay, but I miss his clean cut look and his spiky hair. RIP Borderline Moderately Hot Swaggie. That look would not fit his current character too well, since it's way too metrosexual and modern. |

The character is specifically trying to get a rise out of people by being fashioned after one of the most divisive political commentators in this country. Im not surprised some people agree with what he's saying, but its inflammatory garbage to me. Zeb is carrying Swagger right now. It was so incredibly awkward when Swagger just kept chanting "We The People" tonight. They shouldnt let Swagger say a damn word. |

I know they're trying to not go too crazy, but I think he should be over the top racist.
Some of these people may agree with him, and the way he's phrasing things don't make him sound crazy enough.
He, much like JBL, specifically pointing out Illegals. Hell I remember JBL clearly saying a couple times that He didn't hate Mexicans only the illegal ones (also something about the French people are okay but the government pissed him off). I think there's a lot of Legal immigrants and Latino-americans who anti-illegal immigration.
If he wants heat, he's gotta go super bigot.

And I just want to remind people that every poster has a right to have his or her own opinion on this character. As long as no one is flaming those who do not share that opinion, it is within board rules to express beliefs as long as it relates to a current WWE angle.

I don't think the end game of revealing the Zeb character is that he's just a r-r-r-racist. He wouldn't be building towards that by spending so much time talking about what once made this country great first.
I think we're just getting that to slowly introduce us to Zeb as, along with hooking us up to Del Rio, it's his most rational argument. In the 46 days leading up to Mania, I have a feeling he's going to become more-and-more Alex Jones-esqe separatist Xenophobe to the point where he outright denounces America and begins having Swagger announced as from a seceded part of the country.
We're eight days into a character being played by a man known for flushing out worthwhile wrestling characters. It's not like this is a deplorable misfire of a one-off skit like the Steiner-Nowinski debate, this is the early rumblings of a master at work who is leading us to the biggest show of the year.
Of course, I was he guy that held out hope that the DiBiase-Hunico feud wasn't a surface-level rivalry based on Hunico not being invited to a weekly party that literally never at any point had invitations resulting in him being face-value upset, so I'm well aware I could be wrong here.

They haven't run shows in Texas since this Zeb character came along. |

In addition to the ambiguous phrasing regarding immigration, condescension, and rubbing elbows with historical figures far greater than himself. A big part of why I dislike Alex Jones is because he thinks he's God's gift to 21st century America. |
