Excuse me, how in the seventy thousand f***s have I never heard about this? www.scpcbgame.com/Haven't tried it yet, but the very notion of walking around the foundation has me excited. And for those of you who haven't heard of the SCP Foundation yet, check this out. See you in three days when you finally emerge from the obsessive reading: www.scp-wiki.net/

Yeah, Slenderman was really scary when it came out but quicky became a meme and now it's nothing more than an inside joke and everyone is in it. I feel the same. I used to love the Slenderman mythos (still kind of do), and I liked how practically everyone I talked to about it had no idea what it was, so introducing them to it was fun. But ever since the game, it became a meme, a lot of people are more aware, and now most of those people refer to him as "Slendy", which is a tad annoying. Most to all of the mystique and general creepiness that made Slenderman cool is gone. I guess you can say if I had a "hipster moment", this is it.

Despite my status as premier hipster of FAN, I can still enjoy stuff when everyone else hops on board too so I'll give this a go.

Most to all of the mystique and general creepiness that made Slenderman cool is gone. I guess you can say if I had a "hipster moment", this is it. I really don't think the game "ruined" anything, but I agree that the game is vastly overrated. And what kind of annoys me about it is the number of people who are convinced this is where it originated from and that Marble Hornets, EverymanHYBRID, Tribe Twelve and all that are fan works of Slender, when it's really the other way around. NOW, I just gave Containment Breach a go and I must say I really liked it. It is similar to Slender in some ways (you attempt to escape a monster who is chasing you and you must stay away from at all cost), but I feel it's much better. For starters, it feels more like an actual game, in that while you can't attack the monster, you can defend yourself from it, there is more of a point to the exploration (also the level design is much better and feels a lot smoother) and in general you can interact more with the game world. Also, from what I understand, the levels are partially randomly generated (it uses a seed for each new game). Second, don't forget this is still the alpha version of the game, so it's the early stages of development, the gameplay will be refined, and presumably they will add more features, mostly when it comes to SCPs (apparently, there used to only be SCP-173 and they added a few more), and considering the alpha version of this game is already far more interesting and fun than the finished version of Slender, I am very much looking forward to the next updates. Honestly, as far as these indy/amateur games where you must escape instead of fighting go (it's becoming a surprisingly large sub-genre), this is one of the better ones.

There have been many SCP Lets Plays, it really has quite the cult following. It also has a plot.
The latest batch of slenderman games (Haunt and the original maps that have been remade) are very good.
