But, there was that one mom that kept yelling at Iron Man. She made it ok to clone a Norse God into a death machine. I'm just surprised none of the avengers had already done this. The Nitro "your playing with the big boys now" was a cool moment. I actually kind of want a flashback comic of the reality TV show prior to the disaster, that could be fun.

Some of it was awesome, some not so much. That ending? Captain America just stops fighting and gives up. Gets arrested and then shot? WTF? Surely that could have been written and explained better. Him and Iron Man are beating the piss out of each other and all of sudden he just stops. Weak. I can now see why people weren't so fond of this story arc. There were some great parts though. My favorite being the 4 issue X-Men Civil War and Wolverine hunting down Nitro. Being a big fan of Cap as I am, I really found it dumb that Captain America, a hero best known for never ever giving up under any circumstance, just gives up just like that, to drive home some confusing aesop.

I'm probably in the minority that liked the Civil War arc. I thought it made sense that the heroes should've been registered and made responsible for their actions. But the way they were doing it pissed me off.

Good concept, horribly written and executed.

Didn't Cap give up because a bunch of loser school teachers, firemen, policemen, and doctors tackle him and "tell him the error of his ways" or something like that? I thought I read that somewhere, and it sounded stupid beyond belief. I also noticed Joe Quesad...er, I mean Marvel, is trying to shove that stupid story line down everyone's throats...from totally abandoning the potential story in Marvel Alliance 2, to...from what rumors are saying...trying to start it in the movies as well. I kinda can't help but feel, as far as the movies go, "these characters JUST got together...are we already going to do the lame tear them apart Civil War story? Can't they just...be together longer?"

It seemed like they were trying to go that route in the first season of Avengers: EMH, when Agent Hill was gonna go to the President about getting the Avengers registered, Goldenbane.

Something like that, yes. In any case, I don't read Captain America comic books to see him surrender like some craven coward. I wanna see him kick ass and inspire people to never give up.

That route would be...ok...I suppose, as long as the team isn't instantly split and at each others throats. If they're opposing the government together, I think it'd be more compelling. If they wanted to do a Civil War thing years down the road (assuming they don't reboot everything) after several movies, I'd have no complaints, but to split them up so immediately after they just got together, earned each others respect, and all that, seems like things too fast.

I just thought it was cool that Stamford, CT blew up. so can we safely assume the Marvel Universe version of Vince McMahon is dead?

It honestly seems Marvel doesn't realize they are the only ones who really liked Civil War.

No, because I'm pretty sure the Marvel Universe version of Vince McMahon is Dr. Doom. Don't believe me? Just wait for Doom to take off his mask, I guarantee his next words will be "It was me Richards, it was me all along!".

Maybe they'll also realize that the real event from Marvel that year, i.e. the one that delivered and was actually a good story, was Annihilation. I liked how there were a couple of panels in Annihilation that referenced Civil War that boiled down to Nova calling them all a bunch of dicks for squabbling amongst themselves, completely oblivious to the Annihilation Wave.

My memory of it is a bit spotty, is that the storyline where Iron Man took She Hulk's powers from her and she tells him it was the dumbest thing he could have done because now he had to deal with Jennifer Walters and instead of Shulkie beating him up, Jennifer Walters would take him to court and destroy him?

When I punched Iron Man in the dick in the aftermath: {Spoiler} ![](http://i.imgur.com/0QIuM.jpg) (Yep, it happened, and it was awesome) Worst moment of the Civil War: Everything else. (Honorable mention to the creation of BuckyCap, sorry Mr. Emoticon Man, you know ilu.)

Remember the issue of Nova after Annihilation and Civil War when Richard came back to Earth and put into context how stupid the whole Civil War was compared to the rest of the universe fighting Annilhus and his army. Made Tony and them look even stupider.
