The Lord of the Rings movies were dull and uninteresting. I would actually say they were "boring" but then someone would comment about how I don't understand movies or something. Well guess what? They were slow and plodding and none of the characters besides Sam were interesting. They all existed to say expository dialogue and do a bunch of battle fights that I couldn't care less about because it never ever felt like there was something at loss...only with Sam and Frodo. Nothing about these movies made me appreciate the art of filmmaking, in fact I think it was a step in the wrong direction. All my this.

I didn't even know they made animated films! Any suggestions? Justice League: The New Frontier Justice League: Doom All Star Superman Superman vs The Elite Superman Batman: Public Enemies Green Lantern: First Flight Wonder Woman - The Paranormal Activity fans I've talked to agree that 2 was the worst. I thought 3 was the best, I still haven't watched 4, despite owning it. Oh and don't forget the newest ones: Batman Year One, and both parts of The Dark Knight Returns! You get Robocop as Batman!

Horror movie fans who lament over the fact that there are no good horror movies anymore have no one to blame but themselves and their "bad movie marathons".
You keep giving Troma and other shlock money and Internet Reviewers keep giving them publicity, so they'll keep putting out shlock.
Also, Wesley Snipes deserves MUCH more credit than he gets.

Horror movie fans who lament over the fact that there are no good horror movies anymore have no one to blame but themselves and their "bad movie marathons". You keep giving Troma and other shlock money and Internet Reviewers keep giving them publicity, so they'll keep putting out shlock. Except no-one's blaming these kind of companies for the lack of good horror movies, especially not Troma, which if anything is generally considered an oasis of good (if silly) films. When people say there are no good horror movies anymore, they usually mean the insipid crap put out by big companies that have the budget and resources to make outstanding works, but choose instead to design their films not to entertain but to sell tickets, and as a result take no risk and make their films dull and stereotyped, avoiding at all cost to make films great, because passable to decent (supposedly) sells better. Horror fans would like to once again see horror film-makers show some audacity, they dislike the current trend of horror films because they're NOTHING like the type of films they watch at bad movie marathons, because the films at these marathons at least tried. That's why they're hilariously bad: they went all out, gave it their all, and completely missed the mark, but fans still respect them for genuinely wanting to do good and taking risks. And that's the thing, many films released these days are so boring they're not even laughable. Sure they technically don't crash as hard as the so-bad-it-good ones, but that's only because they never aimed as high as them in the first place. Producers these days want to make films that have no chance of bombing, but as a result they make films that also have no chance of being a true success, because the assurance of making a profit is better to them than the risk of a flop, even if it also gives them a chance of making a bigger profit.

All the Nolan Batman movies were boring. Even as a huge Batman fan I agree with this. The Super Hero movies in general just came too many, too soon. I mean I know some people were dying for certain franchises to have movies (either first-time or reboots) for decades, but Hollywood really blew it's load all at once and it was just overwhelming. So in the mix you had weird things happening like Nolan (an otherwise great director) trying to make Batman into this whole new thing that it didn't need to be. I much prefer the 1989 Batman to anything Nolan put out.

Roger Moore is the best James Bond ever.
Ghostbusters 2 lacked the charm of the first one and was dead boring.

There's no such thing as to many Zombie Movies ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) A million times THIS!!! Don't hate the entire sub-genre due to the Bad Ones....there have been quite a few good zombie flicks, even if we're just talking the last 15 years or so.... I'll add a few myself.... ----Totally agree with the earlier post stating that PHANTOM OF THE PARADISE > ROCKY HORROR......don't get me wrong, I love RHPS, but the wheels do kind of start coming off of it about midway through the movie, where PHANTOM gets stronger. ----Didn't hate Spider Man 3 (with the exception of Venom being jobbed)....in fact, I thought Peter's whole crisis with the black costume as being a great allegory for Addiction. ----Ditto Superman Returns, as it was a Love Letter to the first two Chris Reeves Superman movies, and I LOVED those as a kid, so...... ----The English Patient was probably the worst Best Picture winner in recent memory......good performances and well shot, but the story drug BADLY/ ----For the most part, I HATE PG-13 horror movies.....I consider them soft movies for soft people that can't handle REAL horror. -----Going back to that first point, it amazes me how many people who eat, drink, and breath THE WALKING DEAD, and yet many of them would NEVER lower themselves to watch a Romero zombie movie (the great ones), and yet when you look at it.....IT'S THE SAME THING. The rules are the same, and the writers follow Romero's thoughts on what zombie movies are vs. any other zombie movie series.....hell, THE WALKING DEAD basically is an ongoing Romero zombie movie, which is what makes it great. I'm just sick of getting confused looks out of people when I bring that up. -----The Transformers movie were, for the most part, Crap on moldy toast......the robots looked cool, and Megan Fox had a SMOKING ass, but other than that......Wank. I didn't even finish the 2nd one, and never watched the 3rd. -----SERENITY was a better STAR WARS movie that ANY of the prequels. -----With a few exceptions, Woody Allen films are nothing more than masturbatory, pretentious whine fests. "Oh, I'm a creepy, child molester looking guy that's getting to make out with hot, young Hollywood actresses....Woe is ME!!!" Yawn. ----I think the pretty much the same about Paul Thomas Anderson's movies (Post BOOGIE NIGHTS).....MAGNOLIA started out decent, but that second half KILLED it, and THERE WILL BE BLOOD was pretty painful to sit through, with the exception of the last scene. ("I drink your Milkshake!!!") That's all for now....I'll probably add on to this....

Christian Bale is a horrendously overrated actor who is typecast as the grizzled, emotionally cut-off tough guy because that is the extent of his range. All of his performances that go against this type are horrendously bad, especially The Fighter, where he comes across as someone doing the world's worst impersonation of a drug addict.

Star Wars is over-rated. The films are very, very average
LOTR is boring as hell
Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is a good film and fits right in with the series, it constantly puzzles me when people complain that the refrigerator scene and the aliens are 'too unrealistic' when the other films have face melting nazis, voodoo priests ripping out a guys heart and sacrificing the still alive person after it and a cup that (supposedly) gives permanent life

I prefer the 1982 International Cut of Blade Runner to all the others. I like the added violence and I feel that it preserves the most ambiguities, which are resolved by the later ones, shrinking the world and taking away some of its possibilities. I also think the voiceover works to expand the world some.
I find McCabe and Mrs. Miller interminably boring. Buffalo Bill and The Indians is also horribly boring.
I feel that the theatrical cuts of Highlander 2 are better than the disingenuous revisionist ones that came later. Its biggest strength is that it's a terrible wacked out movie, I think these attempts to 'fix it' completely miss the point of what makes it interesting to begin with. I'd rather my Highlander 2 be god awful and idiotic than simply mediocre.

Here's another one: I didn't feel strongly enough to hate it, but all the praise Silver Lining's Playbook got seemed ridiculous. It's not a funny movie and none of the characters are particularly likeable or interesting.

I completely agree with this. It almost frustrates me a little bit to discuss Batman movies with people because I have to pretend like I can see the other person's point of view when, to me, Jack Nicholson and even Michael Keaton are just generally on a level above Bale and Heath Ledger. Ledger as the Joker has to be the most overrated acting performance in the history of movies.

Ace Ventura 2, When Nature Calls was one of the most unfunny sequels I have ever seen. I thought the title was UN-popular movie opinions? Like the following: -Caddyshack is a very dull movie. Three guys doing partial stand-up acts (Chevy Chase sucks the life out of any momentum in this film, ugh) with a story hardly anybody remembers the end to, and yet it's constantly in the Top Three of any best sports movie list. (All those lists have some sort of different combo between Caddyshack, Slap Shot and some feel-good drama/flavor of the month.) -Never seen Slap Shot, and I really don't care to do so. -Rocky II is my favorite of the series. Not a lot of love is given to II as opposed to the first or third. There are people who say IV is better. ( ![???](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/huh.png) )

Batman (1989) has aged terribly and does not hold up well today.
The best parts of the movie are Danny Elfman's score and Michael Keaton's shit eating grin as Batman. Other than that it's meh.
