Booker T may be out of action effective immediately. Booker wrestled Matt Hardy at last night's Smackdown house show in Westchester County Center. He may have torn a muscle in his right leg during the match. The referee threw up the X signal during the match, which caused WWE personnel to come charging from the back. It took Booker T about seven minutes to get up off the mat with assistance from a doctor and some referees. As soon as Booker stood up, some nearby fans could hear Booker say, "It's torn." Sharmell was crying during the entire ordeal.

ive heard of the WWE doing fake injury angles at house shows. I hope this is the case this time. Booker is still good and SD's roster is getting thin quickly.

here is the other part of the article with the fan account.
Thanks to DPC7305 for sending this in.
Just got home from the Smackdown House Show at the Westchester County Center. Just a quick note>>>looks like Booker T tore a muscle in his right leg possibly his acl. During his match with Matt Hardy, Booker had Hardy in an abdominal stretch. Hardy broke the stretch and flipped Booker onto his back. Booker immediately called for the referee who then backed Hardy into the corner and gave Booker a 10 count on the mat. the ref then threw up the X signal and personnel from the back came running out. After about 7 minutes Booker stood up with the help of the attending doctor and some referees. As soon as Booker stood up you could hear him say "It's torn" Sharmell was crying the whole time.

DIdn't he get hurt a long time, and say the Back injury would be a reason for his retirement because he'd get the surgery once a complication comes up...

Man, bad break for Booker. I hope it's just a false alarm anyway and nothing's too wrong. If not, get well soon Booker.

Looks like we were all wrong... it's not Lita, but rather Matt Hardy is the walking disease!
Just go back to ROH already. YOUR.... TIME.... IS.... OVER!

This really sucks. Booker's act has been tired for a while, but this best of seven series was really bringing out the best in him. There's no way he could put Benoit over in three more matches, let alone have them live up to the calibre of their previous efforts.

He's still one of the best on the Smackdown roster. Hopefully he can continue, and at least finish the series with Benoit. Get well soon, Bookerman.

What's the deal with the X sign? Is it the universal sign for someone being actually hurt or something?

The universal X sign thrown up by a referee indicates that a wrestler is seriously injured and they need the trainer and EMT's down to the ring.

...I know you're watchin'...
Seriously though, if this is confirmed by more people and is true, then this is going to be a real bad break. The whole feud with Benoit is now in serious jeopardy, and really makes you wonder what's going to happen to either guy career-wise in the next couple of months. The last time Booker had to take a lot of time off was for a back injury (so he lost the IC Title to Christian at a house show), but at least then he had a title to drop. We still have some best-of-seven matches to deal with here. I hope we can get more info about this ASAP.

The report on the house show on PWInsider mentions the finish to the match looked screwey (2 count with a kick out that didn't look like he kicked out followed by a 10-count because booker couldn't get up). But they didn't make it sound as serious, probably because this person wasn't close enough to hear the ref and Booker talking.

I just want to add this is indeed legit, it has been picked up by Dave Scherer
It really is too bad for Booker if it causes any long term injury, I had a feeling we were going to see a Booker v Batista match at the Rumble to serve as fodder on the way to Batista v Orton at Mania
