Ring of Honor returns to Chicago on July 11th for what is sure to be the most unique night in the history of ROH! That evening Truth Martini will present “ROH Unauthorized: A Night of Hoopla” at 115 Bourbon Street and we here atROHWrestling.com have been told by Martini is that it will be a very…different…night.

We know Truth has arranged his main event with "Unbreakable" Michael Elgin, BJ Whitmer & MsChif competing in a 6-Person Intergender Tag against Adrenaline RUSH (ACH and Tadarius Thomas) & Athena, we knew that he has of course signed his World TV Champion Matt Taven for the night, and we knew that both Delirious and Cheeseburger had agreed to come to 115 Bourbon Street for the night’s festivities. Well, as you will see in the “Hoopla Roll” video below, it seems Martini and his Hoopla Hotties were very busy people in Baltimore last weekend:

- Jay Lethal versus Delirious with Maria Kanellis as the special guest referee!

- “Zombie Princess” Jimmy Jacobs performing his new single “Gypsy Soul” live!!

- AND PANTLESS REFEREES?!?!?!

JULY 3RD NEWSWIRE

- Huge news today as Nigel McGuinness announced that ROH World Champion Jay Briscoe has been stripped of the ROH Title.

- The ROH Match Maker stated that he cannot allow Briscoe to compete until officially cleared by doctors for his own health and the integrity of the ROH World Championship. Jay will be out of action anywhere between 3 to 6 months recovering from a severe shoulder injury resulting in the World Title being vacant for the first time!

- With the ROH Championship vacant, there will be a giant tournament featuring 16 men battling it out for the right to hold the most prestigious wrestling championship in the world today! It starts in Providence on July 27th and continues in Toronto on August 3rd, NYC on August 17th, and culminates during “Death Before Dishonor XI” weekend on September 20th & 21st in the place ROH was born... Philadelphia! 

- The first man entered, as Nigel stated in his video, will be the top contender to the championship: “Unbreakable” Michael Elgin! Elgin had been patiently waiting for a title opportunity he earned back at “Supercard of Honor VII” when he defeated Jay Lethal but was one of many people sidetracked by the S.C.U.M situation. "This championship is the ultimate goal" Elgin stated. "The ROH Championship means more than any belt in wrestling. The ROH Championship is on a pedestal above all titles because every champion has truly earned it. Every single champion in history has defined themselves as the best in the world because they EARNED this belt. Nobody attained it easy... nobody. I will climb to the top." Elgin now finds himself the first man entered into the tournament that kicks off later this month and his 1st round match-up will go down in the city where he was originally scheduled to challenge for the World Title: Toronto on August 3rd!



- Nigel is currently signing competitors from all over the world in order to make this the most prestigious tournament wrestling has seen in a very long time. ROH have announced their WrestleMania Weekend shows - they will be April 4th (7:30pm belltime) and April 5th (2pm belltime) at the John A. Alario Sr. Event Center at the Bayou Segnette Sports Complex in Westwego, LA, which is apparently 12 miles away from the Superdome.
