A former Winner has been added



We are less than two weeks from the return of an ROH tradition and one of the most prestigious tournaments in professional wrestling: SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST! Over the course of two action packed nights in Columbus and Toledo, the stars of ROH will battle each other to determine who is the only survivor! Additionally, each night will see its share of incredible non-tournament action, delivering match after match of the best professional wrestling on the planet.

The most historic tournament in Ring of Honor has been won by legendary athletes such as Bryan Danielson, Delirious, Tyler Black, and Jay Lethal. This year, the field is comprised of a sweeping variety of athletes representing every style and alliance in ROH. Within the list of competitors you'll find first-time participants standing toe-to-toe with past victors! It truly is anyone's game this year when ROH presents SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST 2015 on November 7th and 8th.


The first night of SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST will feature the potential show stealing, high flying battle between MATT SYDAL and ACH! But today we have more information on what's stacking up for Columbus on the 7th - and it's going to get violent!


- JAY & MARK BRISCOE VS. MATT TAVEN & MICHAEL BENNETT W/ MARIA KANELLIS

Just confirmed, Night One will be headlined by non-tournament action and what might be the most heated rivalry in ROH: The Briscoes vs. The Kingdom! Adam Cole and Jay Briscoe have been going at it for over a year and their issues are far from settled. But on November 7th, The Kingdom will be represented by the new team of Michael Bennett and MATT TAVEN when they take on Dem Boys in the main event. And this is no ordinary tag match. Thanks to the constant interference (and constant brutality) anytime The Briscoes and The Kingdom get near each other, Nigel McGuinness has declared that this match be NO DISQUALIFICATION!

With Adam Cole entered into the tournament, it falls to Michael Bennett and Matt Taven to handle Kingdom business. Obviously, Taven is a new addition to this alliance...but the coming of "Matt" was much heralded by Bennett and Maria for weeks before Taven's new allegiance was revealed. Now this new team will be tested against the most legendary team in the history of ROH - and Dem Boys hate The Kingdom more and more every day!

- ADAM PAGE VS. CEDRIC ALEXANDER - SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST ROUND 1

We can now confirm another first round match for SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST 2014! In a battle to advance in the tournament, Adam Page will take on Cedric Alexander. This match pits two of the youngest, most promising stars of ROH against each other. And one of them has a brand new attitude. Both Page and Alexander have found themselves embroiled with The Decade. But while Cedric refused to be bullied, Adam Page decided to bend under the pressure and humiliation, becoming one of The Decade's "young boys" and supposedly learning humility the hard way.

Adam Page learned something, all right. In recent weeks, it's become more and more clear that the abrasive tactics of men like BJ Whitmer are rubbing off on the formerly respectful, quiet Page. What does this newfound aggression mean for his in-ring prospects? And have enmity The Decade seems to harbor against young athletes like Cedric Alexander hardened Adam Page as well? On paper, this match seems like an athletic showcase between two rising stars who want to advance in this prestigious tournament - and it certainly will be. But as the hostilities grow, Page vs. Alexander might be more of a war than anyone could expect!

That is amazing news for ROH, they're the number 3 company in the US, yet they get action figures, and their first live ppv drew damn good numbers for a ppv that had no advertising from the providers. At the same time that's got to be disheartening for TNA, their toyline is dead. Not much longer to ROH becomes the number 2 promotion.

TOMMASO CIAMPA HAS BEEN ADDED TO SOTF 14
11/7 Columbus - 11/8 Toledo



It's an ROH tradition and this year it's coming to Columbus and Toledo: SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST! The most historic tournament in Ring of Honor has been won by legendary athletes such as Bryan Danielson, Delirious, Tyler Black, and Jay Lethal. It's long been regarded as a critical step toward greatness in ROH and a huge accomplishment for whomever wins it.

This year, the finals of the tournament will take place in Toledo on November 8th! The final match of SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST is an absolutely grueling Six Way Elimination match to determine most dominant athlete of the entire tournament. Nearly every participant has been confirmed and announced, including yesterday's surprising addition of DELIRIOUS! But there was still one more spot up for grabs.

Tommaso Ciampa just recently came back from his mandated ROH suspension, which followed a rampage during which he attacked numerous ROH staff and officials including Kevin Kelly and Bobby Cruise. Ciampa feels he's been overlooked and under appreciated. In the mind of the "Sicilian Psychopath," he DESERVES opportunities. And he deserves title shots.

ROH Head Matchmaker Nigel McGuinness agreed to reinstate Ciampa under a zero tolerance policy. If he violates the stipulations of his reinstatement - even once - he will be out of Ring of Honor forever. No more chances. And as part of this reinstatement, it seems that Nigel has been taking at least some of what Tommaso rants about under consideration. He even allowed him a chance to represent the ROH ALL STARS in Kalamazoo. So far, Tommaso has adhered to the terms of his reinstatement...but every moment seems on the verge of snapping.

Tommaso filmed this video asking Nigel to give him that last remaining spot in SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST 2014.

In what might come as a surprise, once again Nigel McGuinness has acquiesced and made it official. The field of competitors for SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST 2014 is now complete. And TOMMASO CIAMPA is the final entrant!

Ciampa wants a world title shot and now he has the opportunity to earn it by winning SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST. But the zero tolerance policy will be in effect throughout the entire tournament. Nigel McGuinness has given Ciampa the chance that he's asked for, but only time will tell if the the Sicilian Psychopath will keep himself under control!

TAG WARS 2014 - THE ROAD TO FINAL BATTLE RUNS THRU CHARM CITY

Ring of Honor returns to Charm City! On November 22nd, ROH will be back in Baltimore once again and our TV cameras are coming along, too! Not only will you get a full night of the best professional wrestling on the planet, but the action will be filmed for broadcast on ROH TV. And this stop in Baltimore will be extra special as we bring you TAG WARS 2014!

The tag team scene in ROH is always fast paced and competitive, with current ROH World Tag Team Champions reDRagon constantly raising the bar. Right now, reDRagon are in Japan showing the entire world why they are the preeminent team to beat! But Kyle O'Reilly and Bobby Fish will be back in the States by November 22nd, where they are already scheduled to defend their titles at TAG WARS.

TAG WARS is a unique single night tournament where ANY of the teams entered can end the evening as the ROH Tag Team Champions! Six contender teams will be entered. The first round consists of 3 tag matches as these six teams are pitted against each other. The three advancing teams will go on to the finals: a four-way elimination tag with reDRagon standing in the fourth corner. And the titles WILL be on the line!

Today we can announce the first team entered into TAG WARS. When you talk tag team wrestling in 2014, one team is constantly requested by ROH fans. With their hectic international schedule, this team is in high demand at all times. But on November 22nd, THE YOUNG BUCKS will be in Baltimore! Matt and Nick Jackson are former ROH World Tag Team Champions and have been embroiled in a long standing rivalry with Fish and O'Reilly. They would relish the opportunity to take the titles from them once again!

GLORY BY HONOR XIII is coming to San Antonio! Every time ROH is in Texas, the crowds are hot and the action proves why we are the absolute best professional wrestling on the planet. This year's GLORY BY HONOR will be headlined by an ROH World Title match featuring Jay Briscoe defending his championship against hometown Texas favorite ACH! ACH earned this title opportunity after a series of impressive, resilient battles, particularly his endurance during the CHAMPIONS VS ALL STARS eight man tag main event.

And speaking of earning opportunities at gold, one man in Ring of Honor has been amassing a series of victories surpassing any other in Ring of Honor. R.D. Evans is the guardian of #TheNewStreak, which as of this writing stands at 167-0. However, as any streak historian worth her salt would confirm, the most critical marker stands at 173-0. #TheOldStreak remains the absolute pinnacle as far as unbroken victories are concerned - and yet #TheNewStreak is fast approaching this milestone.

According to Veda Scott, the machine behind #TheNewStreak prides itself on subtlety and humility in the face of success...but with such an historical moment fast approaching, excitement tends to build and occasionally one must indulge in a bit of back patting. R.D. Evans has taken to social media, tweeting several updates on the potential he has to defeat #TheOldStreak and pointing out that ROH Head Matchmaker doesn't seem to be nearly as thrilled about this as he should be. Evans insists that his impending (and according to Evans and his camp, inevitable) victory ought to be celebrated and that he deserves a shot at some ROH gold.

When Nigel heard that, he immediately stated he wanted R.D. to "put his money where his mouth is" and set up a match for him in San Antonio at GLORY BY HONOR XIII! R.D. Evans will finally get a title shot when he takes on ROH World Television Champion JAY LETHAL on November 15th. It's going to be Title vs. Streak!

Granted, most recently R.D. Evans has been competing in the ROH tag team scene with his partner, MOOSE. But Veda Scott has been assuring those victories count toward #TheNewStreak and the number just keeps on climbing. Now everything rests on November 15th. GLORY BY HONOR will be an historic night in ROH one way or another. Either R.D. Evans wins his very first title in Ring of Honor and achieves the all-time greatest winning streak in professional wrestling history...or #TheNewStreak finally comes to an end.

- ADAM COLE VS DELIRIOUS - SOTF Round 1

In professional wrestling, we often talk about clashes in style. But this first round match will be less of a clash in styles and more a total clash of personalities! Adam Cole claims he's the perfect representative of Ring of Honor. He DESERVES attention and accolades because he's the best looking, most confident, and most charismatic man on the roster. On the other hand, Delirious isn't exactly the most well spoken or poised athlete in ROH - when you can understand a single word he's speaking. This match might devolve into pure chaos!

Adam Cole has been ROH Champion before and he's itching to earn another shot. But as erratic as Delirious is, he's also a former SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST winner. In 2006, he went all the way through the tournament and came out on top. That experience edge might turn the tables. Whoever wins here advances to the six man elimination finals the next night in Toledo!

- RODERICK STRONG VS TADARIUS THOMAS - SOTF Round 1

Another former SURVIVOR OF THE FITTEST winner competes in this first round match! Roderick Strong won the tournament in 2005, so he knows what it takes to persevere. But he's going up against a man hungry for opportunities and recently forging his own path. Strong and Tadarius Thomas are were formerly associated with The Decade together. One would think they know each other's styles and weaknesses better than others after months in close proximity. But since Tadarius broke out on his own, he's been more aggressive than ever.

And what better way to establish you're an athlete who can stand alone than to be victorious at SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST! But he's going to have to get through a former winner first. And Roderick Strong is even more than that. He's a former ROH World Champion and winning this tournament will get him one critical step closer to reclaiming championship gold.

- TOMMASO CIAMPA VS CAPRICE COLEMAN - SOTF Round 1

No one thought Tommaso Ciampa would be anywhere near SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST in 2014! Coming of a much deserved suspension for attacking ROH staff and officials, Ciampa has been begging for attention and swearing he'll adhere to the zero tolerance stipulations of his reinstatement. So Nigel McGuinness decided to give him the opportunity to compete in this tournament - on his absolute best behavior.

Caprice Coleman has the experience advantage over nearly everyone on the ROH roster. He's a seasoned veteran of the ring. But while he's come close in the past, he's never won a title in Ring of Honor. A victory against Ciampa would propel him to the finals and get him in contention for an championship opportunity. But getting through Ciampa is easier said than done. While the "Sicilian Psychopath" has ALWAYS been unstable, this zero tolerance policy hanging over his head combined with his always increasing frustrations makes him completely unpredictable!

- TAG TEAM SHOWDOWN: CHRISTOPHER DANIELS & FRANKIE KAZARIAN VS JIMMY JACOBS & BJ WHITMER

The tensions between The Addiction and The Decade are far from new. From the moment Daniels & Kazarian arrived in ROH as a team, Jimmy Jacobs has been extremely vocal in his discontent over the opportunities and attention The Addiction receive. Most insultingly, - at least to The Decade - their very first match in Ring of Honor saw them challenge for the World Tag Team Championship. According to Jacobs and Whitmer, those who have been loyal to ROH and toiled here for years deserve these opportunities and it's a disgrace that The Addiction just strolled right in.

Meanwhile, Daniels and Kazarian have made clear that they're here to compete against the best the world has to offer and aren't turning down a fight. The hostilities have been building and now we have a TAG TEAM SHOWDOWN in Columbus! And with TAG WARS looming at the end of November, this match will showcase why ROH has the best tag team scene in professional wrestling today.

ADAM PAGE TAKING THE LESSONS & RESPECT INTO THE NEXT DECADE



Adam Page upon first glance is without a doubt a blue chip prospect. Bursting onto the scene in Ring of Honor in January 2011, he impressed officials with his raw natural ability.

He not only impressed officials, but he caught the eye of Ring of Honor veteran BJ Whitmer. Watching from afar, Whitmer watched as Page proved himself by hanging with top ROH talents such as Matt Taven, Michael Elgin and Adam Cole. “He definitely had something, but he was missing some crucial pieces” said BJ.

Final Battle 2013 saw the arrival of Page to the big stage permanently. He opened the biggest event of Ring of Honor’s calendar with a highly anticipated match against “The Icon” Matt Hardy. While Hardy won, Page did not disappoint anyone but himself, “I put the pressure on myself to beat Matt Hardy on the biggest show of the year and I failed”.

Around this time Ring of Honor veterans BJ Whitmer, Jimmy Jacobs and “Mr ROH” Roderick Strong formed The Decade. Strong, Jacobs and Whitmer all shared the same frustration. They watched as other athletes who left ROH for greener pastures, return and be applauded for what they perceived as a lack of loyalty.

“For over 10 years we’ve busted our asses for this company! To watch someone who left and then returned and be treated as conquering heroes was utterly insulting.” Said Whitmer, ”We had enough and it was time to right some of those wrongs”.

On an episode of ROH TV in January 2014, The Decade started on a mission to recruit other established Ring of Honor stars into the group. They approached Mark Briscoe. Mark rebuffed the advances and The Decade frustrated decided to take the opportunity to attack Adam Page. “Roddy, Jimmy and I knew what we were doing. We saw the potential in Page and wanted to test his mettle.”

“We kept tabs on him. He was trying to find himself” added Whitmer. “He is a young lion on the plain trying to hunt with the big boys and he just doesn’t have all the tools yet.” "We all agreed that it was time to take on the next generation of ROH stars and I decided that Page was the one we should grab first”

March 7, 2014 saw Adam Page and Tadarius Thomas join The Decade as pledges. Page was blown away by the offer, “3 guys who I really respected asked me to run alongside of them. I had to say yes.”

From the outside looking in one could think that the veterans are abusing the youngsters. Having Page & Thomas carry an ice bucket and wiping them down with towels is a just a few of the menial tasks they performed. According to Page, from the inside it couldn’t be more different. “I’m not a servant. I’m not abused. I’m being taught to respect this business, how to respect traditions, how to respect those who came before me and to appreciate Ring of Honor. Why is that so bad?”

He seems to be ok with the treatment, while Tadarius Thomas was not. “He is being blinded. I thought like he did at first, but I woke up. They were playing games. Treating him and I like children. Im not cool with that and that’s why I bounced.”

“I’ve never been one to concern myself with the others opinions. TD is jealous of me. He was always complaining that I got extra attention from BJ. What he and others don’t understand is that I get to pick the brain of BJ Whitmer and Jimmy Jacobs. It’s like going to school. TD is a drop out and me? Well I’m going to graduate with honors!”

BJ Whitmer seems to take a certain level of pride when watching the advancement of Adam Page. Page recently has taken a strong stance beside Whitmer in his issues with fellow Decade member Roderick Strong. Whitmer always a bully is taking great pride in seeing this, “He knows who has his best interests in mind. Roddy needs to make things right with me and Page!”

Many times in history we have seen a bright young career derailed by the wrong choices. This young man from Aaron’s Creek, Virginia is steadfast in his belief that he is on the right path. The Decade could prove to be the best thing for Adam Page or it could prove to be the worst!

Adam Page has star written all over him. Let’s hope for his sake that The Decade doesn’t dim that star before it gets to shine brightest!

HUGE SOTF 14 NIGHT #2 TOLEDO UPDATE

SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST 2014 is just one week away! We now know the full field of tournament competitors as well as some non-tournament action. SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST is the most historic tournament tradition in Ring of Honor, with past winners like Bryan Danielson, Tyler Black, and Jay Lethal. It has always been regarded as a critical step toward greatness in ROH...and the winner gets an ROH World Championship opportunity!

Night Two of SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST 2014 will hit Toledo, OH on November 8th! In addition to some non-tournament tag action, you will see some of the competitors eliminated on Night One competing in unique matches we can't even confirm yet! And, of course, the night will be capped off with the finals of SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST. The tournament ends in a six way elimination match where you truly have to SURVIVE to win!

At SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST: NIGHT 2, we won't know the exact matches scheduled until the conclusion of the preliminary matches the night before in Columbus. It all depends on who advance to the six man elimination finals!

Whether or not they're chasing mutual gold or focusing on their singles careers, Jay and Mark can come together at a moment's notice and work together as a team - as brothers. Currently, Jay Biscoe is the ROH World Champion. But when the time comes to team up as Dem Boys, the champ is always ready!
