Champion!!! {Spoiler}It was a battle worthy of the championship match. Last year, Carrot Top had an early exit in the first round, while Wild Fire wasn’t even in the tournament, yet here they were facing off the Equestria national championship. The first half seemed to belong to Carrot Top, as she was able to build a double digit lead. However, in the closing minutes, Wild Fire made a remarkable comeback to reduce her deficit to a single point going into halftime. The second half was a different story, as both mares seemed to be evenly matched in the opening minutes. Eventually, Wild Fire’s speed allowed her to take a small lead in the closing minutes. Carrot Top tried mounting a comeback of her own. Down by 3 with under a minute to go, Carrot Top had the opportunity to tie. She dribbled the ball behind the arc, tried to get as much separation from Wild Fire as she could, hoisted up the best shot she could get in that situation, and………. Fillies and gentlecolts, you 2013 Mare Madness champion, {Spoiler}  Unfortunately, Carrot Top’s final chance went a bit long, sealing the victory, and the national championship, for Wild Fire. This is quite an emotional win for Sibsy, as the pegasus had to overcome a significant injury to make it to the top. So how will she celebrate? A party coordinated by Pinkie Pie? With her partner, Lucky Clover? Rampaging over a city thanks to some crazy guy’s growth ray? Only time will tell. A big thank you to everyone that followed along the whole way through.
