I like how Austin's idea of family friendly is just no F bombs. Apparently there'll still be plenty of talk about cocks, pussy, tits, hard ons, blowjobs etc. Fun for the whole family. anyways, today's guest is Joey Styles. Very interesting stories about his beginnings in ECW, what really led to his downfall as WWE commentator, and giving props to Michael Cole. Joey tweeted about it and it made it sound like they will be talking some politics Did they?

Thursday's episode was fun. I'm worried that Unleashed will slowly fade away as the "B Show" but it's fun so listen to Austin sit back and spew unfiltered BS.

Part 1 with X-Pac released under the "unleashed" brand yesterday. Great choice in going uncensored on this one. It's quite an interview. I learned a LOT about X-Pac I didn't know before. Holy crap.

As a huge Colt Cabana fan, this episode felt surreal. Can't wait for Austin on AoW.

YES YES YES! I've been waiting for this and had my doubts it would actually happen. I'm listening to this now. Steve on AoW should be wild.

I love they call this a "family show." Steve is drinking a beer and they've had to edit the word s*** several times. Colt got at least one past the censor too.

I don't get why WWE is so reluctant to rehire Cabana.

I think the Steve Austin Show is the best thing currently in the wrestling business. I have literally watched Steve Austin's entire career and truly think this is the second best phase of it (second to Stone Cold of course). I truly enjoy every second of these podcasts.
Does anyone else find it off putting how everything goes back to Colt Cabana getting fired from WWE? I feel like every episode of AOW revolves around it and he even brings it back to that when he is being interviewed.
Still, another great interview. I liked how you could tell they were two guys who had completely different views on the business. Made for a cool dynamic.

I can see why some would fine it off putting, but personally, I can understand why he would dwell on it. That was his dream and they didn't remotely give him a fair shot at succeeding. It would bug me as well if I were in his position. Having said that, he's also made a name for himself without them, so he should be proud of that as well.

I would also imagine that despite him being upset about it, it is also the most notable thing that Colt has done (in regards to pop culture/mainstream).

all this talk of him getting a tryout for an announcing job made me think of a possible storyline for the inevitable "Punk vs The Authority" feud that will come sooner or later. basically it would run like this:
1) Punk finally finishes his feud with Heyman.
2) HHH, who has already shown a dislike for Heyman, congratulates Punk but Punk blows him off
3) HHH says that he sees Punk as a star and wants to work with him. Punk blows him off for weeks and insults his family.
4) HHH brings out Punk and says he has a surprise for him. He brings out Colt/Scotty and tells Punk that he's going to show him how much he wants to work with him by offering his best friend a WWE contract. Colt signs immediately without reading it. HHH then swerves them by saying he signed Colt to an announcing contract because he only sees him as valuable because of his voice. He later states that he has no business setting foot in their ring and adds that Colt should have had a lawyer look over the contract first because he would be subject to many monetary penalties if he were to quit.
5) HHH has now embarrassed Punk's best friend publicly by forcing him into a job he doesn't want and Punk sets his target on destroying HHH's regime.
This would give Colt a chance to get over for several weeks doing backstage interviews and the like and not only succeeding but also starting to like his job to spite HHH. Plus you'd always have the opportunity to transition him over to in-ring pretty much at any point.

Who the hell was Hakuishi that Xpac kept talking about during how he developed the BroncoBuster?

Who the hell was Hakuishi that Xpac kept talking about during how he developed the BroncoBuster? Japanese wrestler Jinsei Shinzaki, who wrestled for a brief period in the WWF as Hakushi. Was brought in to face Bret Hart, also had good matches with Waltman. Was last seen in WWE with Barry Horrowitz trying to americanize him. His greatest match would be against The Great Muta at New Japan's Battle Formation '96.
