So the Knicks, Thunder, Spurs and Warriors are basically the only teams left in the playoffs that are not 'Ugly the game and drag it into the mud' types of team. Pacers/Bulls/ vs. Grizzlies is something only a purist would love. And way the games have been officated, it seems Stern wants the Pacers to advance. That Pacers vs Heat matchup is a much bigger draw than Knicks vs Heat.

Is there a worse studio show in professional sports than the NBA coverage that ESPN/ABC offers? Michael Wilbon is a buffoon and a stooge for the league on par with Patterson or Brisco, Magic Johnson can't formulate a sentence or a coherent point to save his life and Bill Simmons, a guy who built his empire on being anti-establishment is now the embodiment of the establishment, which is a shame, because his NBA writing is at the level of few others, but he's been so clearly neutered over his decade with the worldwide leader. Jalen Rose is the only one on the panel whose analysis or input actually provides any sort of insight.

This doesn't mean a goddamn thing. The Maloofs are trying to backdoor this with Seattle without the NBA's consent. The relocation committee already unanimously voted against recommending relocation to Seattle. This is a desperate last ditch effort to steal the team that will only hurt Seattle's chances. This new "deal" would still need to be approved by the NBA which I don't see happening. Read this article by Ken Berger of cbs sports for a better understanding of why this latest attempt at extortion won't work. www.cbssports.com/nba/blog/ken-berger/22229050/will-seattles-hostile-takeover-of-kings-work

Wow, wonderful call Mark Jackson. 16 seconds left, ball is yours, and you run the clock down to 5 seconds without a pass or any movement and jack up a contested 15 footer.

The Spurs just lost a game they had no business losing.
Then again, they had no business winning game 1.
So those games cancel out.

I think The Warriors may be my favorite team in the playoffs currently. I'm a giant sucker for cinderellaish stories.
Plus my Knicks decided that getting out of the first round was enough and went on vacation early apparently.

Sacramento has been in the news for off-the-court stuff surrounding their future, but on the court, they are lagging behind the rest of California NBA teams.
The Lakers is obvious, but the Clippers recent success and what the Warriors have done this year makes the Kings' recent failures to do damage in W-L record since 2006 stand out a bit.
They lack an identity- look at what the others have- Lakers have winning tradition obviously, but compared to Lob City and the Splash brothers- just who and what are the Kings?
They don't have THE guy where you can identify as the face of the franchise- the Lakers have Kobe, the Clippers have Blake and (still for now) CP3, the Warriors now have Steph Curry.

I don't feel the same way as most people on the relocation issue. I guess as a native Californian, and an astute historian of sports, at first I didn't see the big deal with Sacramento leaving (personally, I think it's a wastrel for professional sports, but I digress). And they, like all of the other NBA franchises, are relocated. Every single one of them. But then again, I realized that if they leave, it will cost the entire state millions of dollars in revenue, and mess over other franchises in the state as well.
And honestly, there is no way that Sacramento is worth even that much as a franchise. Even when they were good in the aughts. Seattle got screwed, yes, but then again, didn't they refuse to pay for a new version of Key Arena/renovate it way back when? Or were the owners going to move them no matter what?

They have an identity, they're one of the worst teams in the league that is doomed so long as the current ownership and front-office has control. That's a pretty unique identity in my opinion. As for their players, if you transplanted LeBron's brain into Boogie Cousins' body, you'd have to shut the league down. The guy could be a superstar, he just needs to go to a different team (a lot of these guys could be described in the same way).

They don't have THE guy where you can identify as the face of the franchise- the Lakers have Kobe, the Clippers have Blake and (still for now) CP3, the Warriors now have Steph Curry. The franchise has been a complete failure from the top on down. First of all I have to blame the Maloofs for the shoestring budget they've been operating the franchise with. There's a reason why Keith Smart was hired and it wasn't because he's a good coach. He was willing to work for cheap, his rotations are atrocious especially the debacle of starting Aaron Brooks over Isaiah Thomas earlier this season. This is the same guy that would play Steph Curry small minutes and let Linsanity rot on the bench at Golden State. Smart is just the latest terrible coach that hasn't been able to develop our young players, the last time we had a good coach was Rick Adelman. Then I have to blame a lot of this on Geoff Petrie. Here's a list of recent draft day blunders. He passed on Curry and drafted Tyreke Evans. (Under better coaching this move might have worked out in Sac's favor) Not only did he pass on Kwahi Leonard, he traded to move back in the draft to snag Jimmer Fredette while acquiring the black hole of production and bloated salary that is John Salmons. Passed on Harrison Barns which would have solved our problem at the three and drafted Thomas Robinson which did nothing to help the Kings. We then flipped Robinson in his rookie year for Patrick Patterson and two expiring contracts. The team played alot better after this trade, but it was purely a cost cutting move. Hell that just covers the basketball side of things and none of the Maloofery that Sacramento has had to deal with over the years. Good god we've been f***ed so hard! After the constant threat of relocation, the arena that's falling apart, the attempt to "Major League" the market, it is amazing that Kings fans haven't given up and continue to fight.

The way I see it, the Maloofs are to the Kings what Rachel Phelps was to the Indians in Major League. Except much longer term and it isn't a comedy movie so their scummery is even worse.
