Good card, the OP really needs updating it only has Cena vs Ryback on it.
Jericho/Punk, Ziggler/Del Rio, RK-NO vs Rollins and Reigns and maybe one or two others on the card all have the potential to be great

I stand by my belief Punk will not show up at Payback.

Wait. A tag match that contradicts most of the past few weeks' build is more worthy of PPV time than a feud that's been building for a good while? I swear, a lot of the time it feels like with these pre-show matches they mostly do them to not have to put a fresh face (and by that I mean someone who isn't on PPV often, so don't go using the Shield as proof to the contrary because they generally are on there) on the show proper.

I think they really weren't sure what they wanted to do with the Shield/Hell No/Orton/Sheamus this month, thanks to both Mark Henry and Big Show winding up injured (and maybe Kofi too, considering he could've conceivably gotten another shot at Ambrose), leading to a lot of booking on the fly. I wouldn't be surprised if some of the shows a couple weeks ago were written under the assumption that it'd be the Shield vs. the Celtic Vipers at the PPV.

Anyone else think the Wade/Axel/Miz IC Title match will end with Triple H laying everybody out with sledgehammers so that there's no title change? I stand by my belief Punk will not show up at Payback. Likewise. Could Lesnar show up and take out Jericho?

Orton vs The Shield has been going since February. Kane and Daniel Bryan vs The Shield has been going since December. Both far outrank Sheamus vs Sandow.

I don't think they'll go with Lesnar randomly showing up unadvertised - be a waste of plenty of money, and still probably piss off a good few Chicago fans. My guess, Punk does show up but loses the match thanks to Heyman somehow so that Jericho kinda-sorta but not really looks like an actual threat to lose to Ryback at Money in the Bank or SummerSlam, since Ryback could apparently benefit more from the rub of being the 10,000th guy to beat Jericho than he could from beating Cena, or something.

I guess this is a good place to post this, rather than starting a new thread.
The US Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO) has refused WWE's trademark application on "WWE Payback." Apparently there's a TV show about cars called "Payback" and the office is citing a likelihood of confusion as the reason for doing so.

Anyway, anyone else see Jericho turning heel and joining Heyman, screwing over and turning Punk face at the PPV? The whole promo last night seemed to point at that to me, along with Jericho basically being in "Greatest Hits" mode which seems unlike Jericho.

I figure when Heyman turns on Punk, it will be with Lesnar doing the beating, not Jericho.

Until now I didn't even think of Jericho turning, but good posts. Also the promo with Heyman bringing up him giving Jericho his first big break. Maybe that was another hint.

I figure when Heyman turns on Punk, it will be with Lesnar doing the beating, not Jericho. I'm figuring Lesnar returns when Punk finally gets his hands on Heyman. It'd be Punk/Axel, Punk/Jericho and then Punk finally gets to Heyman when Lesnar stops it.

Quick question for anyone from New York- I'm gonna be in New york this weekend, and was hoping to catch the PPV. Is there any bars around Midtown area that put on a PPV night that fans go to watch the show?

Is there any bars around Midtown area that put on a PPV night that fans go to watch the show? Yeah - Jack Demseys on West 33rd and Highland Park on East 34th show the PPVs usually. Think at Jack Demseys there's a $20 minimum to get in.

I hope not. A win over Jericho does nothing for Ryback. Anyone who is already presented as a "main eventer" in the narrative gains nothing from beating Chris Jericho. It worked for Fandango because Johnny Curtis was an unestablished low-carder before getting repackaged. It wouldn't do anything for anyone Miz-level or higher.

Anybody with a PS3, check your inbox. I just got a message from Sony that wants you to test their new "Live Events Viewer" app. What they're testing it on, is WWE Payback. As being apart of the testing...they're offering it for free. Yep. FREE.
