When its not resulting in a tweak ankle, of course. It looks great and its got a great name as well.
Two questions. When Reigns debuted the move (two weeks ago, I think), JBL immediately called it a Superman Punch. Is this a legit term for that flying punch? Does anyone else do it?
Second question; is Roman Reigns the first wrestler to have three recognised killer moves (spear, powerbomb, punch) all in his first year?

Via wikipedia:
"A superman punch, cobra punch, falcon punch, jumping punch or diving punch is a technique used in Muay Thai, san shou, kickboxing and mixed martial arts fighting. The technique involves bringing the rear leg forward to feign a kick, then snapping the leg back while throwing a cross, resulting in greater power behind the punch.[1]"
You see it a lot in Ultimate Fighting Championship. It's a good move because it looks devastating and, at least according to Nick Diaz, it's a wimpy move so it should be safe to use.

Yes, that is indeed a legit term. That's what it's been called for a long time. These days, the term is most famously connected with Georges St. Pierre, the MMA fighter, because of how well he does them.
WWE's eagerness at connecting Reigns with that move name is unquestionably either a tip of the hat to, or an aping of, UFC.

Then again, this is the same company that had a former wrestler-turned-MMA star-turned-wrestler again dress up in UFC-esque attire while using the armbar.

Add to the list of his devastating moves the Lariat, the superman punch for me is my third favorite movie he does the first two are the spear, followed by the lariat

I've been saying for a long time now that the Superman Punch should be Barretts finish but at least someone is using it. It always looks fantastic.

Yes its a legit term for it. Also here are a couple of examples of it being used in MMA which resulted in a KO.

The thing about the way Roman does it, in UFC it's really more of a feint, Roman Reigns does a running start and just plows the opponent with it, which makes it look even more powerful.
The one he did on Smackdown on Orton was a running elbow strike with the posture of his Superman punch though.

I'm glad someone's using it. I've thought it should be a finisher for years, simple but effective. Plus, if he tweaks his ankle again, he could a non-leaping rocked back version and still look effective.
But yeah, always loved the Superman Punch. In Thailand, quite a few promoters actually pay the winner extra if they win with the Superman Punch because it looks so freaking flashy.
Used to love comboing into it in MMA, usually go for a few body shots, a right hook followed by a left, a knee to the body and finally finish off the knee into a Superman. Personally thought it looked awesome, and flowed pretty well.
