No. I don't mind seeing Velvet on TV. Her character is a bit stale.

No, of course not. This is like asking if I expected Rob Terry in 2010 to be a technically-gifted worker. I did not. Didn't mean that excused him from outright sucking, though.
Same goes for Velvet.

Don't we already have a thread for this?
Regardless, people are expecting too much from her. It doesn't need to be a Dean Malenko match but they want a 2-3 star match out of her and she isn't capable. She's got a job because she's hot that's it. The sooner people recognize that wrestling companies do indeed hire eye candy and the benefits it has the better off the IWC will be.

Not sure how to answer to poll question. If I vote yes, is that a vote that I think she's a good wrestler? If I vote no, is that a vote that I watch her for sex appeal and don't care about wrestling? I obviously know who she is so I can't vote the 3rd option. I guess I just have to do a write-in vote instead:
I don't really seek out her matches. The rare times I do watch TNA, I only watch the knockouts matches and whatever Samoa Joe is involved in. So considering she's featured a lot its unavoidable to not see her if I want to watch knockout segments. I watch to see good matches, if it involves talented veterans like Gail, Mickie, or Tara? There a good chance I'll get one. If it involves folks like Velvet, Brooke, or Taryn? The best I can possibly hope for is an average to below-average match. And since Gail, Mickie, and Tara have faced each other more times than I care to count, the knockouts division desperately needs new talent who are polished in-ring performers.

MAN, how is it that I was actually making a long post in the previous Velvet topic that actually didn't so much blame Velvet for being bad in the ring as putting the bill on Impact for not expecting anything more from her or their audience by promoting her as "Generic Non-Threatening Mainstream Blond #3?"
...and how if they actually kept the KO's going as they were, they would've had more of an audience to promote to in general seeing as how NOBODY MAINSTREAM was promoting competent women in the ring like they were?
Like...I don't even understand what this topic is trying to say. I don't expect a technical extravaganza for the vast majority of wrestling matches so...

I guess I missed the fun from the earlier thread, so maybe I'll make points made there.
If I were in charge of TNA, and I saw that match with Mickie, she would definitely have less of a focus, if not sat off TV with the storyline reasoning of Mickie hurt her knee really bad, until her contract was up. If people want to watch hot chicks wrestle, there are a ton of attractive ladies who can do a much better job then Velvet. She was ok when she was Angelina Love's sidekick, but being a major focus is the same as when they pushed Kelly Kelly in WWE. She gets great sympathy, but she can't be used in a feature role.
Gail Kim's matches with Taryn have been ok, because it's basically been Gail as a heel beating the crap out of somebody, and then she falls and gets pinned. With Velvet and Mickie, you have two babyfaces (or at least one turning heel eventually) and you're doing a 50/50 deal, and you can't do that with people so untalented. People maybe like, well, she's hot, I like watching her. Yeah, well, there's picture of her in more scantily clad clothing, and lots of gifs of her ass bouncing around. Beat off to that instead of her stinking up the joint.
Also, I sarcastically voted yes. Imagine if Kelly Kelly vs Velvet Sky took place. A modern day Steamboat vs Flair if there ever was one.

If Velvet could wrestle at at least a competent level as a face I think most people would have no problem with her. But she can't, she's really the type of wrestler that needs a partner like Angelina to cover for her weaknesses. Kind of like Layla in Laycool only Layla is a much better than Velvet and Angelina carried the team in terms of promos too. Whereas Layla was the more charismatic one of Laycool.

Hey, "technical extravaganza"? That's the exact phrase I used in the other thread! I got indirectly referenced!
I made it, guys. This is a great day.

No, but like Kelly Kelly she should be eyecandy AND NOT THE f***ING champ of the division. She should be a jobber, period.

IMO she's better in the ring than she's given credit for, and she gets herself over. I don't her as a transition champ, at the KO-division's current size everybody has to be in title picture, but she was best used as part of The Beautiful People.
