I may be well and truly screwed. If I've learned one thing running these tournaments it's this, Deathmatch tournaments are always the most unpredictable with the most upsets. Hell, I simmed a tournament the other night just for the enjoyment of myself and my roommate that saw Johnny Ace win 32 Man Landmine Deathmatch where he beat Cena and Vader along the way.

Well, Tiger Mask II ought to have an easy match, but anything can happen.
As for Nakamura, he should have that no problem.

Clearly you're a zombie, your breath smells like rotting brains and the funk of forty thousand years. Not you, Brodus! And the Princess part...I mean, come on, man. We get it, you're eccentric! But calling yourself a PRINCESS? Maybe you should trade in your wrestling tights and boots for a tutu and some ballet shoes, go off and do Swan Lake, and spare us all EEEVER having to deal with your inane, whiny promos again. "Oh, boo hoo, I'm Jimmy Jacobs! Lacey doesn't love me! Wait, now I'm all edgy and dark! I hung Jay Briscoe by his ankles and rambled on for twenty minutes! I founded the Age of the Fall! Why aren't you scared of me?! I must need more eyeliner!" I mean COME ON!!

Ah, it's time for That Young Knockout Kid to do what he once did best. Macho, I don't know exactly how you rose from the dead, but entering a King of the Deathmatch Tournament? Really? I hate to do this, but I'm going to make you wish you stayed underground. But before I win, I want you to answer me one question.
Who's your Hero? It's Chris Hero.
Hmmm....
It seems The Icon didn't learn his lesson from the Tag Team Tournament earlier, now did he? Sting is old news, and Jon Moxley is the man to send him back into the recesses of memories forever.

Afternoon One Report Welcome everyone to afternoon one of BJW presented FAN King of the Deathmatch tournament. It's been a long exciting week here in Tokyo as talents from across the world have made their way to the Tokyo Dome for one reason, to try and be crowned next King of the Deathmatch. Before we get down to the ring our first afternoon of action we have a word from our sponsors.
Promotional consideration brought to you by Tokyo Blood Bank, supporters of deathmatch wrestling and massive blood-loss everywhere.
Mike Awesome vs Low-Ki What seemed like an obvious mismatch from the start nearly became the first upset of the day as the World Warrior took it to the Gladiator early on gaining many close near-falls but in the end the Gladiator's Awesome power and strength were too much for Low-Ki as he fell victim to an Awesome Bomb in 14:05.
Necro Butcher vs Bruno Sammartino One of the more interesting matches of round one was only one of the more evenly paced. Both Necro and Bruno had the match under control at different times but it was the experience of the Strongman that prevailed as he pinned the Necro Butcher folloing a Canadian Backbreaker Drop in in 14:56.
CM Punk vs Batista Who expected this to be a knockdown, drag out bloody and ultraviolent affair? Not this announcer and not anyone else in the Tokyo Dome but for 26:18 in the first round the Animal and the Best in the World beat each other with everything they had until one man was left standing. After countering a Go 2 Sleep attempt Batista was able to but the Second City Saint on the mat for the three count with a Batista Bomb.
The Undertaker vs Tommy Dreamer The Innovator Violence tried to create a few opportunites for himself in this match but when you're lock in a cage with the Phenom there's not much you can do. The Deadman took control early on and maintained it throughout the bout, winning with a Last Ride in 11:19.
John Cena vs Jimmy Jacobs Is there someone about Japan that makes people go nuts? Tonight, the Leader of the Cenation got a little bit crazy in the cage with Jimmy Jacobs, grabbing everything he could get his hands on to wail on the Zombie Princess. After 12:03 of a severe bludgeoning the face of the WWE made Jacobs tap to an STF.
Sting vs Jon Moxley The theme of experience is prevalent this afternoon but it seems overall experience trumps a history of violence everytime as the veteran Sting proved against Jon Moxley that he had hang with the best Deathmatch wrestling has to offer. Moxley and Sting traded the advantage but a surprise Scorpion Death Drop lead to the pin for the Stinger in 17:00.
Raven vs Chris Jericho This Halloween Havoc 1998 rematch turned out to be a real horror show. The inventor the Clockwork Orange House of Fun match was right at home in the weapons filled cage but the 1004 Holds held his own the majority of the match. In the end it was an Evenflow DDT on a steel chair that let to a Raven victory in 14:43.
Shinsuke Nakamura vs H King of Strong Style did not translate to King of the Cage in this deathmatch tournament. Despite an early advantage and several near submissions the fast paced, high flying offense of H was too much for Nakamura to handle as he was defeated with the H Edge in 16:20
What an afternoon of action we've had here today. Legally we're required to take a few hours for the ring-crew to clean up all the blood and broken weapons around the ring before we start Night One of action but we'll be back later for the conclusion of Round One of this King of the Deathmatch tournament.
Afternoon One of FAN's King of the Deathmatch Tournament has been brought to you by Home Depot. Need something blunt to beat your opponents with? Maybe you need a power tool to get the job done right. At Home Depot, we're here to help.
