As much as it can be critiqued and dissected for certain aspects, being around during that whole ECW ressurection in 2005 with the release of the Rise and Fall of ECW and the One Night Stand show was quite the experience. That was a fun and awesome show.

I don't care what anyone else says, the crowd was the best part about the show.

That was a fun and awesome show. It was awesome and still was the best one. The Sandman entrance still bring chills for me. This was really this and the second one was really the last time the ECW originals I think where worth a damn. All the beating of the dead horse shows now just doesn't work. The crowd I agree was never matched by the other shows. I honestly think the new ECW had a lot of potential of being great but the WWE didn't want it to over take Raw or Smackdown.

One thing from being around in that time period was that it felt like a proper ECW sendoff. Of course a year later and everything had changed, but in 2005, it was significant that the top wrestling company in the world gave a niche promotion a reunion show and it surpassed everyone's expectations.

Still remember going to my parents with a buddy of mine so we could order the PPV. Had a cooler full of beer on the living room floor, got hammered, and had one of my greatest nights ever as a wrestling fan.
That show was a blast from top to bottom

Greatest thing I remember leading up to it was Benoit vs. Tajiri, which ended with Benoit putting the Singapore cane in Tajiri's mouth during the Crossface. It looked f***ing stupid as shit.
Meanwhile, JR was rambling excitedly about "This is exactly what ECW is all about!" to hype the PPV.
