Be careful on that podium. Just a matter of time before Tyus Jones flops off of the side of it.

Man, what a shitty title game. I say that as a casual observer because the first half was fun to watch. Close game everyone getting up and down the floor and it set the stage for the second half to be great.
Instead the refs killed the flow of the game with cheap calls both ways (probably a few more against Wisky but not as many as you would believe). It went from a free flowing awesome up and down game to a UVA type slog and it sucked in the second half.
Hats off to Duke, great team all year, same to Wisky... but man, that game could have been something special until the refs f***ed up the second half.

Bo Ryan became a human salt factory after the game. Good lord, Bo.

Bo Ryan became a human salt factory after the game. Good lord, Bo. Quite a contrast to Calipari, who gave Wisky all the credit in the world and didn't harp on a legit potential excuse- the shot clock violation

As much as I typically don't like Duke, I don't feel all that bad about Wisky losing now. Between their flopping antics and Bo Ryan's passive-aggressive potshots, they're really unlikable.

It was a ridiculous concern after Duke punched their ticket. There are numbers to back up that Duke and UK bring eyeballs to the games, almost no matter what.
If it had been Wisconsin vs. Michigan State? Yikes.

Bo Ryan became a human salt factory after the game. Good lord, Bo. I didn't see the game, but I read his comments about the refs. Yeah that's nice, a couple missed calls, kind of like in the previous game, the shot clock violation and Harrison getting a foul when not even touching a Wisconsin and Duke shot 10 more free throws, when in the Kentucky game Wisconsin shot 12 more free throws. The refs were horrible this entire tournament, Wisconsin benefited from it against Kentucky. And, the style of play he was bitching about the checking and physical play, is the same shit Wisconsin does.

It's funny how we think Wisconsin/Michigan State would have been a ratings disaster, yet the second highest rated college basketball title game behind Bird/Magic was a conference rematch. Villanova/Georgetown 1985 drew a 23.3

People complain its always the same teams on top on the men side but what about the Woman's side. Seems like UConn wins it every year

Exactly what I expected before the game. Kentucky would have brought more eyeballs to the table, but they still did well to have Duke and a likable underdog. People will tune in to root for/against Duke. They move the meter. But they also lucked out by having the 1st half go the way it did. Lots of lead changes, Okafor in foul trouble, tied at 31 at the half. Whoever was watching didn't have any reason to change the channel. Hell, I barely flipped to Raw during the game unless it was halftime. If anything, they pick up viewers as it went along. Especially when Wisconsin went on a run in the 2nd half. People would love to watch Duke lose on a big stage. Much like Kentucky. The brewery I work at erupted when Kentucky lost, and we're in Illinois. Nobody had a rooting interest in Wisconsin past seeing Kentucky go down.

Baylor and Notre Dame have only won 3 titles combined. Just saying.
