How can anybody get excited about that? Why does Cena getting booed upset you? He's made it his character at this point. You can't not admit that the best Cena matches are the ones with the split crowds. It also doesn't say if they're talking about Cena. They could be referring to the show as a whole.

So as great as that match was...no, never been a fan of the crowd regardless of their passion, and I honestly never cared for that part of his pipe bomb.

It's part of a storyline though, in storyline Punk thought of. I know it was a worked shoot promo but it was still a work. Just the same as Daniel Bryan probably doesn't have anger issues in real life, Kurt Angle probably (hopefully) doesn't hate black people, Kane probably isn't a necrophiliac. Cena probably isn't a kissass but for the purposes of the storyline that's what he was seen as, not sure why that bothers you.

That might seriously be the best PPV I've ever seen besides WM 17. I never felt as much emotion for any event as I did for MITB 11,just an overall incredible show. Crowd reactions in Punk vs Cena are going to give me goosebumps forever, just like the entire match.
The show happening on my birthday made it even more awesome. When I saw Punk coming out with practically my birthday on the t-shirt I went nuts, absolutely nuts. The moment he won,I pretty much shed tears of joy.

I'll always regret this night. I was IN CHICAGO for the weekend, to see Soundgarden. Sure, the show was sold out, and it was expensive, I didn't have the money etc. But I should've f***ing gone, no matter what.

It was just a totally unnecessary thing to weave into Punk's buildup, and as hard as it might be to believe given how Cena is booked so dominate, I don't think he's fully recovered from that. It turned what could and should have been a 70/30 pro-Punk crowd into a hate pile-on of someone that didn't deserve it, either in kayfabe or real life. I get they wanted Punk to be the righteous angry working class hero, but did they have to transform his opponent from someone that ate, slept and breathed wrestling into this undeserving brown noser?

I honestly don't think the Raw one gets enough credit, yes I agree the SD one was better but Raw one was great fun also. Even Henry vs Show was good on this card (though to be fair all the matches in that feud was better than what I expected). Christian, Bryan and Punk winning were all mark out moments for me. What else needs to be said that hasn't been said about it already? An absolute classic. I need to buy the DVD again because the first time I got it for xmas that year it was a faulty one and the receipt wasn't kept for it .

In the Raw MITB match, the huge heat Mysterio gets from Chicago with Miz (in the midst of his biggest heel run) getting a ridiculous babyface pop when returning to the match always makes me laugh.

Punk blowing that kiss to Vince is one of the very few utterly perfect moments in WWE history. Brings a tear to my eye every time I see it. It's a shame that weird looking fan ruins the picture of it. I wish I could relive that angle again. It was awesome and made me excited to watch Raw which very very very rarely happens these days. Plus I got to see Punk at the Melbourne house show just a couple of days after he did the epic shoot which made it more exciting and fun for me. Shame how it ended though.

This was the last PPV I actually ordered. Bought the DVD too so I rewatched this last Saturday to prep for MitB '13. I love the Smackdown MitB so much, I could watch it a hundred times and not be tired of it. Just fun all around really.

-Evan Bourne's SSP off the ladder and then the sick laughing while he is on the ground One of the most beautiful spots in history in my opinion, but I am a Bourne mark. Yes he has had his problems but he is an incredible talent and has been since his indys days, I hope he gets his stuff together when he hopefully comes back soon. *searches for gif of spot* Thing of f***ing beauty. The maniacal laugh makes it as you say as well, alsmost laughing at all the destruction he has caused.

I'm a huge, HUGE mark for CM Punk's original World title win from Edge in 2008. I remember watching that as it happened and being completely blown away. I freaked the f*** out and it is one of my all-time favorite wrestling moments. Definitely top 5 material. No one really remembers that moment, but it was really special. I never thought a Punk moment would top that.
MITB did, and it was so, so brilliant. The flow of the match, the big chants, Cabana in the front row, the potential screwjob, the first Johnny Ace appearance (How come no one talks about that?), that GTS. The pin and Punk's triumphant yell thing, then Vince fuming and the almost cash-in, and the kiss goodbye. So goddamn good. I felt so proud to be a wrestling fan watching that match.
Also, no one ever gives props to Cena. He was a class act during that match, just as we was in similar circumstances against RVD in 2006. That match affirmed to me why Cena is the man. Really made me a Cena fan in the long term, too.

Great show, but I wonder if Punk/Cena really deserves the 5 star rating Meltzer gave it. This was the first time he gave a WWE match 5 stars since the first Hell in a Cell in 1997 and only the fifth WWE match to receive that rating. Is this really one of the promotion's top 5 matches ever? 5 star build for sure, but the actual match? I don't know...I'm curious to hear your opinions about this.

Personally I believe it to be a five star match. That being said I also believe Shawn Michaels vs. The Undertaker from WrestleMania 25 to be a five star match so my ratings with Meltzer's probably don't measure up (I'd also have given Austin/Angle from Summerslam '01 five stars as well for example). The build (for Cena/Punk) was fantastic yes but in this case - at least from my point of view - the execution was equally as brilliant. I haven't sat down and wrote a list so I can't be sure but I imagine it would be in my top ten WWE matches of all-time. Could possibly even be top 5 as Meltzer clearly has it in his top 5. Not sure though, I'd have to think about it long and hard.

That period from CM Punk cutting the promo to Money in the Bank was my favorite time period in wrestling since the Monday Night Wars. I haven't felt that good about anything in wrestling since and I don't think I will anytime soon. Dead f***ing serious. Whoever put that together needs to be to be brought back, because clearly after that they were gone as everything involving this angle afterward stunk. Everything during that three week period was incredible. The "shoot" promo obviously, the "You have a vagina!" house show in Adelaide, Punk's appearance at Comic-Con, the megaphone promo, the contract signing, Money in the Bank. Even the video package before Punk vs. Cena was great. It was wrestling heaven and hasn't really been topped since, for me anyway.
