I got the DVD yesterday after hearing so many people give it critical acclaim. I had seen a lot of small video packages on it, and was pretty impressed. Plus, the card appeared near-perfect to my tastes. I watched that night and were appeased to see that my expectations were met, however I can't say that they were above mine because of all the hype I heard.
Now my question is this...the aforementioned people I gave that awarded it with critical acclaim stated that it blew it's competition (One Night Stand II) away.
Agree or disagree?

I liked Hardcore War. It was a solid show, specially the main event. I'd rate it equal with One Night Stand II as both had stuff I liked and disliked.

I was there live, front row! It was a really good show, I thought. Really excellent.
The next TNA house show at the ECW arena... not so much.

Some quick notes of my own:
+ only the second time I ever witnessed Shark Boy winning a singles bout under the TNA banner + Lynn in action for the first time in, what seemed like, almost ever - excessive WWECW bashing; it's a TNA house show, so promote it like it's one

I know Shark Boy beat Nigel McGuiness in the Genesis 05 pre-show and he also won a 6-way at one of the ppvs in 05.

ONE NIGHT STAND II was an abomination of epic proportions. It is only seconded by DECEMBER TO DISMEMBER, WWE 2006.
TNA HARDCORE WAR not only guts ONS2 but slam dunks its entrails on the floor, kicks 'em into the crapper, and flushes it away for the jabroni show that it was.
ECW SUPER SUMMER SIZZLER SPECTACULAR from 1993 was a better event than WWECW ONE NIGHT STAND 2006.
TNA HARDCORE WAR just happened to be GOOD (unlike SSSS '93).

That's depressing. Tell me about it. At least Shark Boy will be able to look back on this day if Nigel ever gets his well deserved 'big' push, and say, "I beat that guy."

Tell me about it. At least Shark Boy will be able to look back on this day if Nigel ever gets his well deserved 'big' push, and say, "I beat that guy." This is true. Plus that match did answer I question I had been wondering for awhile. I hadn't seen the match until recently, but when I heard TNA had the guy there and didn't do anything about it I was kind of baffled. But after seeing the match, it kind of became clear that Nigel is a bit better suited in a place where he can have long matches. Cramming his entire move set in to an 8 minute match didn't come off all that well to me.
