Im trying to understand people so Why do you unfriend people? I usually dont unless someone gives me a reason to. I get the whole "busy with life thing" But doesnt it speak on a person just because oh someone doesnt like my every single post or picture that they say oh hey ill unfriend you out of the blue? Have I been doing facebook wrong and I am supposed to be quasi-stalkerish with people?

I'm really selective with who I actually friend, so unfriending doesn't happen a lot.
When I do unfriend people, it's usually because they use sweeping generalizations that insult me or my beliefs. (ie: all white people/Republicans are racists, if you eat at Chick-fil-A you're a homophobe, and so on.)

I rarely unfriend people as well. However, some of them I have done is because I don't really feel that I need them there but it's never anything personal. If I see the person in real life, I'll still be cool to them.
I remember someone unfriended me in the past probably because I annoyed her or something. However, I figured that it was going to happen, so I was never hurt by it.
There are some people who I thought I was cool with who ended up unfriending me. I don't think I'll ever know why either.

I only unfriend people if they post something ridiculously offensive on a constant basis (Racism etc), or if they're constantly filling my feed with crap I don't care about.

I generally don't unfriend people, unless their posts really go against everything I believe...and even then, only if they aren't a close friend.
Mostly if people are posting really mocking stuff about my religion, how white people are racist, how awesome and perfect one American political party is over another and the gazillions of reasons that other party is just so terrible and horrible, ect.

I'll unfriend people for being assholes and that's about it, though that covers a lot of territory.

I never unfriend people and if someone unfriends me I really don't give a f***. I also don't understand why someone would unfriend a person over differing beliefs, that to me sounds childish.

Well, most of the differing beliefs I see tend to be "We should kick all Muslims out of this country!" and "Gay people shouldn't be allowed to marry and have rights!", so I don't feel it's childish personally.

Differing beliefs are fine. I have plenty of friends who have different beliefs than I do. However, when people insult you or others who share your belief, that's when it becomes more than just differing opinions. When someone is just constantly putting down someone for their religious beliefs or political beliefs, that's where it crosses the line. Granted, most of my real friends don't do that as we have enough respect for one another that it doesn't result in that. However,I have had a couple people I went to school with or people that I had met through mutual friends that I have had to either block or unfriend because they won't stop berating people. If someone wants to have a discussion about their beliefs, that's perfectly fine. However if you just insult someone because of their beliefs, sexual orientation,or race,I'm going to either block or just unfriend you because I don't want to see that stuff.

I don't agree with half the shit is see on my timeline, but the people posting that aren't doing it to personally insult me.

Back when I had Facebook/Myspace, I would routinely go through and delete people who I didn't talk to, and who didn't talk to me. I know it's fun to "friend" someone you went to high school with, just as a means of keeping up, but you're not really keeping up. So if someone is on there for like 6 months and the only thing you get from them is a random birthday post, I don't see the point of having them on there.

I go through my list once every few months and unfriend people that I don't know. I figure, if they've been a facebook friend for so long but I don't even know them or how we became "friends" they have no business being able to see my page.

I don't; I just hide their stuff from my newsfeed.
If they unfriend me, eh, I don't care that much.

I don't really want to unfriend him, but I really want to just hide and/or not see his dumb political crap. Can you give me any advice, please?

One girl decided to unfriend me because of my status updates being positive and me having an actual dating life. Which is kind of ironic because she has a boyfriend. I generally don't unfriend people. If I see a status I don't like I simply don't pay attention to it or just scroll down. Simple concept really. But I always found it amusing how the most irrevelant and immature status updates get the most likes, comments, etc.

I very rarely unfriend someone I think it's really rude and grounds for ending a friendship (Seriously)
I will generally remove people I haven't spoken to for upwards of 12 months. If I haven't said a word to them in a year I get rid of them they are usually acquaintances. I refuse to remove close friends, current friends or old friends.

Mostly it's usually because I haven't talked to that person...or they're a relative
