I've only unfriended one person my entire time on Facebook. Last year, I was canned from a horrible summer job, and she was sort of in on my ousting. Her updates were highly annoying, so she was pretty close to being unfriended anyway.
I'm tempted to start cleaning house on my Facebook unfriending people, but I try to be conscious of others' feelings as a rule. I guess when it comes down to it, I don't really care enough to go through with it. I rarely update my profile anymore, so I really don't care who sees it. I do wish the political/racial/other assorted memes would go away from my feed. I mean, is anyone really dense enough to think their "funny" pictures promoting their side/demonizing the other side really explain the complicated issues behind politics, racial issues, etc.?

I've only ever unfriended someone once, for, let's just say, an irreconcilable political disagreement.

I don't request friends and rarely delete any. All my friends are people who requested me. the only people who I've deleted are people have have nothing positive to say. I was sick of reading so much drama on my feed everytime I signed in so I got rid of them. The only person who ever deleted me was a cousin of mine who is scared of clowns. I made a pic of her as a clown and she got mad at me and deleted me.

I don't think I ever have. I know I've been unfriended myself, but I usually don't have a reason to unfriend anybody. It could definitely happen if they did something really bad, but I also think I'm pretty patient with most people.

I unfriend people who I've never talked to in my life and they're people with a thousand plus friends. Other than that, I'm very selective of who my friends are. I know how to hide feed from certain people who I find annoying.

If we haven't talked or even acknowledged each other on FB (likes, comments, etc) for a loooong time, I'll usually unfriend. Never really saw it as a big deal.

I have one friend on block, that's pretty much where you end up if you're being a drag. Otherwise, I'm pretty selective with who goes on my list.
I'm not worried about being unfriended, we probably never bonded anyway.

I don't delete friends from anything. If you post something that offends me I'll call you out on it, but never try to degrade you for it. I think "unfriending" is really condescending behavior.

If they post racist or extremely offensive posts then I'll unfriend someone. Or just ignorant rants that really don't make sense at all.

I haven't deleted this person, but I get annoyed by all of her "inspirational quotes about love" posts.

Only unfriend 2 or 3 people nd it was nothing personal but rather they were only friends or family members of people I barely knew so i shouldn't have friended them in the first place. I have a fairly strict criteria for friends but at first i was more open to who I friended. When people make posts that i find annoying I just remove them from my feed.

Uninformed political/social commentary. It's just really frustrating to see strawman/ad hominem attacks on anything, not just the stuff that I care about. But I'm not doing it to spite them, just like I'm not gonna get rustled if someone unfriends me.

I unfriended one who wouldn't speak to me when we saw each other in public on a couple of occasions.

I banged a fat chick once and she changed her relationship status to in one with me. Instant block and never spoke to her again.

What's the proper protocol for dealing with people after you unfriend them or they unfriend you? It seems weird to still speak to them really

I didn't unfriend people, PEOPLE unfriended people! And since I don't have a Facebook, when I delete friends, it's pretty much illegal so it doesn't happen very much.

I find that most people who do a lot of unfriending are those who are constantly adding friends on facebook.
Usually if there is someone I don't very well on my friend's list, I purposely comment on their posts and try to get to know them better. And it does work most of the time.

I don't think I've ever actually unfriended anyone. I have unsubscribed from updates for a few, but it's mainly because they were doing nothing but posting pics of animals in shelters and I got burned out on seeing them.

Anyone who takes social media that seriously probably wouldn't make a very fun friend for me....and is a ponce.
