I find this really interesting, and good on him and his crew for going from "you know what'd be a cool idea?" to getting shooting underway so quickly.
Also makes me glad that he's really going to focus so much energy into Clerks III; I don't mind a delay if he feels he won't give it it's due without the extra time.

Man, I wish I kept up with SModcast. I was a loyal listener for the first 100 episodes or so and then I just drifted from it. Not like it stopped being funny, but the amount of classic moments in those early episodes is ridiculous.

Not like it stopped being funny, but the amount of classic moments in those early episodes is ridiculous. Once Kev started smoking weed I felt the quality of the show really declined and I lost interest. Since then I've checked out a couple of the special guest episodes (Jeff Anderson's mainly) and enjoyed the Emo Kev episodes, but that's about it.

This guy can fart anything he wants out, and there is a small to medium sized conglomerate that will just eat it up. Pathetic. The premise alone sounds terrible. But of course, that's the joke. He's gonna make a shitty movie. Good on him!
What a waste of money.

Emo Kev is seriously some of the best Smodcasts I've heard. That old tape of him narrating his life is legit one of the funniest/cringiest things ever.

I've always been a fan of Gordo: The Righteously Indignant Canadian
Also, talking of canadian things, any episode featuring Malcolm Ingram is gold.

I kinda like the idea of a movie based on a podcast episode. We've had film adaptions of books, plays, comic books, TV shows, true life events, and even other movies. So it's kinda interesting to see if we see more examples of conversations on podcasts taken to the nth degree in which it materializes as a film. Although in this case it helps that the podcaster in question is a 20 year veteran of the film industry who has the connections and the know how to get it off the ground, it'll be interesting to see if we see any more podcast conversations taken to the nth degree of a feature film by people who aren't as entrenched in the film industry as Kevin Smith.
