The White Sox are 27 games under .500 since ending the 1976 season, the year after Bill Veeck saved the team from moving to Seattle by buying them for a second time.
The fans are just numb to the whole mess. How many times do we need to read "good pitching with no run support" before we just gloss over that phrase?
For that matter, how many times do we need Hawk to tell us "you can't give a team four outs"?

I figured it'd be close, but we'd be over the hump at least. There's been some pretty good Sox teams. But hey, it could be worse. We've had a number of entertaining playoff teams, and that 05 World Series team, not to mention a hell of a lot of memories and tradition. Which is more than most teams have. |

Yeah, we've gotten spoiled. I mean, we've had the occasional "blip" (1998-99, 2007) but they've had a pretty decent couple of decades. I'm just frustrated because - every day - I'm seeing basically the same line-up posted. De Aza, Ramirez, Rios, Dunn, Konerko, Keppinger/Gillespie, Viciedo, Beckham & Flowers/Phegley. I mean, every frickin' time! Even with the subs filling in for a day, they hit in the same spots. No effort is made to switch things up, like (I dunno, this might sound crazy) drop your non-hitting, Adam Dunn level of striking out De Aza to 8th or 9th (you can't get on base swinging at 45-foot pitches with 0-2 on you), maybe have Ramirez, Beckham or possibly even having Rios lead off. This team could give the record losing 1970 team (56-106) a run for its money. |

Don't worry, the White Sox will probably win their series against the Yankees. Especially if CC Sabathia starts.
