2001 is an year in which I cant think of any matches outside the WWF is an MOTY.
But Austin/Benoit on Smackdown and Rock/Austin from WM are legit 5 star matches.

Aww, 2001. The year that gave us the Invasion angle, but also one of the greatest Wrestlemania's of all time. I voted for the TLC match from WM17. I LOVED every moment of that match and will always respect everyone who took part in it.

I voted Austin/HHH vs. Jericho/Benoit from RAW, but Austin/Rock was great too, I'll give it a tie on this one between those two

I voted other Kurt Angle Vs. Steve Austin at Summerslam.
I almost voted for Angle Vs. Shane only because I was there.

I voted for Jericho vs Benoit in the ladder match. It was the first ppv I watched live in 4 years and was one of the best.
By the way, any of the Chavo Guerrero vs Shane Helms matches from WCW were good. And the C.W. Anderson-Tommy Dreamer I Quit match was great.

I think Austin/Rock was the best "WWF main event style" match ever. Plus the match had some great psychology and the timing was great.

Shane/Angle is one of my favorite matches of all time.
The amount of punishment that Shane McMahon, son of a billionare, takes in this match blows my mind. He's a hell of a guy. I don't think I'll ever forget seeing him get suplexed through the glass ... twice.

The Jeff Hardy/RVD Ladder Match for the Hardcore Title, I believe it was at Summerslam.

Any puro standouts, or do I have to look at a Meltzer list for his opinions?

Benoit vs. Austin from SD! is probably in my top 10 matches of all time. I can't believe it hardly ever gets shown.

The Austin/Benoit SmackDown match was really, really, really...good. Dude gave the other guy like, 12 or so German Suplex's, that's pretty, pretty, pretty...cool.

Gotta go with the main event to probably the best PPV ever, and it was an entertaining match. Runner-up goes to Angle vs. Shane at KOTR.

Kurt/Shane KotR '01. Brilliant match on both peoples. Showed how enduring Kurt really is.
My second choice would have been Austin/Kurt Summerslam '01...Angle just would not give up and Austin had to cheat his way to keep the damn title.

I love HHH/Taker from WM17 and Hardy/RVD from Invasion. But from that list I'd say Kurt/Shane.
