Lynch me if you must, but I have always had something against the ECW Arena. Something about Viking Hall just didn’t work for me, in the way came across on TV. The lighting always sucked, I didn’t like the way the crowd looked from the hard cameras, and how can you forget about those damn black beams?
Accordingly, and once again, I may be on my own here, but I always loved it when they did the tapeings from the Elks lodge in Queens NY. The way that place looked on tv was great. It was always really bright in there, the colors always looked really good, and I liked that there was a balcony. It was small yes, but I really didn’t mind, because the hard cameras were done in a way that really made the place look a lot more enjoyable than it probably was.
So what’s your pick?

I'm pretty biased, but the Flickinger Center in Buffalo was amazing live, but not so much on TV. It looked a lot darker and dingier there.

On TV I LOVED the Viking Hall. By virtue of circumstances (i. e. not a lot of money) the shows there brought back the dark, intimate lighting in pro wrestling; not the overly-lit, shiny, sterile, candy-ass WWE/WCW over-produced crap. It brought back the old school BOXING stylelighting.
In person: I thought the place was a dump. I much preferred the Elk's lodge, but even that place had its issues.

The Hammerstein lookedv pretty good but overall, I loved the look of the ECW Arena. It just had that appeal for me. Plus the crowds were always great.

The Hammerstein, because the angle they were forced to shoot from made it look even cooler.
