I posted a poll asking who the best pure wrestler in north american history was. It's neck and neck with Dean and Bret.
I was wondering did this match ever happen? I know the "who are you to doubt El Dandy was hyping a hart/malenko match, but I don't think it ever happened. I'm assuming if it had happened it'd have echoed through eternity as the greatest match of all time.

Hmm.. I'm not aware of any such match, but if they were both completely free of injuries and personal distractions, I imagine that a match between Malenko and Hart could easily have been one of the greatest technical bouts of all time.

It could have happened, but Bret was nursing a groin pull of the likes that you have never seen.
Seriously, I'd give it to Dean

The truth is this match did happen. It was on a Nitro in late 98 or 99 I'm not sure of the date. During Malenko run as a horseman. It was around the time Malenko got that knee injury. The match wasn't bad but if Malenko wasn't hurt, he could been better. I think this match was one of the good matches nobody remembers.
I have it on a VHS tape somewhere.

Speaking about technical classics and Dean Malenko. Check out his match against his brother Joe. It is a technical masterpiece.

No way, Hart would mess him up, especially since he's nursing a bad sprained ankle.

For those interested in tracking the match down, it happend on November 23, 1998 Nitro. I used to tape every Nitro and Raw back then, so I probably have the tape somewhere. Problem is, I didn't label a lot of my tapes back then.
