Inspired after seeing the Mountie going to jail video. Any other instances of the WWE going "racy" to the effect?

Macho Man clobbering Ricky Steamboat with the bell. Miss Elizabeth 'stripping' at SummerSlam The 4 Horsemen beating up Dusty Rhodes in the parking lot.

Also, Hogan being accused of "lusting after" Elizabeth.

Most anything that Piper said. My personal favorite was during his RR'92 promo quoting the Mountie he says: "'second thing I'm going to do is take Roddy Piper's manhood.' I came here to fight, I don't know what you came here to do!?"

When Bad News Brown teamed with Honky Tonk Man and Big Bossman and, for some reason, turned his back on them and walked back to the dressing room while they got beat up. The interviewer asked him why he did that and Brown goes, "A black man should never trust a cop and a white guy named 'Honky'." I thought it was hilarious but wouldn't fly today.

Diesel flipping Undertaker the bird at the '96 Royal Rumble. That must have been the first middle finger on WWE television.

As mentioned above, a lot of what Piper said. 2 big ones that stick out was Piper and Ventura discussing the marriage of Uncle Elmer and they alluded to if there ever was a case for having an abortion, it would be if the Hillbillies had children.
The other being the time that Piper tried to turn Cpl.Kirchner heel by telling him that the fans didn't appreciate his efforts in Vietnam echoing the reception other vets had received.

To me 1991 WWF is probably the best example of appealing to both the kids and older crowds. I wanna apply today's TV rating system to the shows from 1991. Just to see if they'd be TV-PG or TV-14, and hopefully put to rest the discussion on how restrictive being PG is for the WWE. Most anything that Piper said. My personal favorite was during his RR'92 promo quoting the Mountie he says: "'second thing I'm going to do is take Roddy Piper's manhood.' I came here to fight, I don't know what you came here to do!?" I've mentioned this one in similiar threads: After Bret Hart won the Intercontinental Title from Curt Hennig, Bret starts ripping off Curt's singlet until Mr. Perfect is just wearing bicycle shorts. While Bret is ripping off the singlet Piper on commentary says something about how Hennig is probably screaming "Rape!" right about now. Between this and The Mountie in jail, SummerSlam '91 had a weird kind of subtext to it!

It really is interesting to consider that Vince supposedly wanted an edgier product but the issues of the early and mid 90's for them killed that. Wrestling might've had a different landscape had it happen.
Another one is the Mega Powers breaking up, the locker room attack Savage does on Hogan is a little surreal to see from that time period.

The attitude era kinda shows not just that outrageous things were done, but shows that we were in a more PC era for sch things to be seen as so outrageous. 3-4 years earlier, you had Hulk Hogan referring to Yokozuna as a jap, which seems insanely racist for the greatest hero in all of wrestling to say (also you can look back at the comments Hulk Hogan, the character, made about Tony Atlas as a heel in the early 80's.) Hogan could be less than heroic in the ring as well, occasionally biting and scratching to make his way to a comeback.
John Tenta rejecting the shark gimmick also seems like it would be a late 90's Russo move, made in the early-mid 90's WCW.

Rick Rude was pure attitude. Especially his feud with the Snake.

Hogan was a real whiner when things didn't go his way. I still remember him complaining about Sid eliminating him from the '92 Rumble or when he didn't win the first World War 3 match. Hogan had his moments of being a real dickweed.

Mr. Perfect calling British Bulldog a "son of a bitch" during a match on one of the Coliseum Videos.
Bobby Heenan went on an expletive-filled rant (it was heavily bleeped) on RAW after Ric Flair lost a loser leaves town match to Mr. Perfect.
Some of the outfits worn by Sensational Sherri that showed off her much of her ass, like the one at Summerslam 1992. And when Sherri brawled with Luna Vachon, and stripped Luna down to her orange thong on RAW in early 1993.
There were also times when Ultimate Warrior and Hogan stripped Sherri down to her skimpy lingerie, after she interfered in their matches (one in particular is on the Mega Matches VHS).
The women who came out with Lex Luger at Wrestlemania IX in 1993 were all wearing thongs.
I'm pretty sure Bret Hart said "shit!" (which went unbleeped) on RAW around the time Jean Pierre LaFitte stole his jacket.
Alot of the stuff with Sunny in early 1996 or so was pretty edgy.

The Mountie did it when taking his fingerprints after losing to the Boss Man at SummerSlam 1991. The whole Jake/Savage feud was attitude era stuff. As someone else mentioned, the Cobra biting Savage was pretty strong but for me the match they had at Tuesday in Texas was worse. Just for Jake slapping Elizabeth in the face and telling her "to save his ass".

I knew a guy who was convinced that the Attitude Era began when Diesel said "I'm the shit, I know it!"
Also, Hogan's crimson mask at WrestleMania VII would probably qualify.

Roddy Piper was once on TNT criticizing Cyndi Lauper and pointing out that she had a song about masturbation ("she bop"). That moment is even on the Piper DVD IIRC.
