The only thing I don't like about Danielson is the cattle mutilation.
Actually, I don't dislike it.... It's cool to look at but I don't see how it hurts and the name is sorta dumb to me.
He just seems to be hookin the arms. When he put his head in between the shoulder blades it looked like the head pressing down would torture the back but now he seems to just put his head to the side.
Can someone explain why this hurts? And maybe the name for it? (Just guessing that this move is also used to mutilate cattle)

Most pro wrestling holds don't hurt to much at all. moves like the boston crap only hurt bad if you're outta shape. Like you said, it looks cool. That's all that matters. You can kill someone with a sleeper, and break an arm beyond repair with a basic armbar. Those don't exactly get big pops.

Well, that makes more sense I was guessing since Danielson is such a great in ring wrestler that his finisher would have something more to it. Whatever, that answer is acceptable

Whatever, that answer is acceptable Most wrestling subs are "stretches" all they do is pull the muscle. Not effective in a real fight. They just look cool, and hurt just enough to be reasonably realistic. In real life basic chokes and jointlocks are the most effective submissions.

Well Cattle Mutilation is a lot better than it's original name, Arms Across America.

He's pulling the arms in an unatural position, it's a double chicken wing only on the ground.
Either way Crossface Chickenwing>Cattle Mutilation

Either way Crossface Chickenwing>Cattle Mutilation QFT. And the thing I think with the Mutilation is that it is deceptive. When I first saw it I was thinking "man that looks cool ... but that can't hurt a damn bit". But if you force your arms and shoulders back in the direction that they go in the hold, and compound that with the force of another guy squeezing his arms together to apply more pressure, I can see how it would be pretty freaking painful.

Because dragons mutilate cattle? No, dragons burninate people in their thatched roof cottages. or so i've been led to believe.

I've always seen it as a reverse or upside/down full nelson. You lock the arms and then pull them into the opposite direction, stretching the f*** out of your opponent.

Because dragons mutilate cattle? The Cattle Mutilation is an ancient shaolin technique first taught to AmDrag by the living legend himself, Mantaur.
