The quality of movies and TV shows today is far better than in the 80s and 90s. Especially the 80s...

District 9 sucked. Out and out sucked. Never before have I seen a more unlikeable lead character than the one that is presented in that suck-fest. How that movie became critically acclaimed I'll never understand. I did not have sex with those fookin' creatures man!

I hate Aaron Sorkin's writing style.
British television is vastly overrated.

Trey Parker and Matt Stone are pretentious jerks who have never made anything good.

I never really found Friends all that funny, nor did I found any of the cast cute or likable in any way shape or form.

-Monster Squad > The Goonies Love both dearly, but is the preference based on the fact that Wolfman, unlike One Eyed Willie, has nards?

Iron Man isn't that good of a movie.
The Hobbit is better than The Lord of the Rings
Fight Club is a very boring, way overly drawn out film.
The Exam is one of the best and most intriguing movies in recent years.

Yep I agree with that, well with the exception of comedies which were better in the past. In fact that's my unpopular opinion, for the past few years the best TV drama has been better than it's cinema equivalents. British television is vastly overrated. I'm not sure what to say about that. All of it? Throughout it's entire history over many different genres and channels? Even the best of it's wildlife documentaries (Life on earth, Planet Earth, The Blue planet etc)?

Fight Club, Into The Wild, Garden State, Donnie Darko are all among the most overrated movies in the last 15 or so years.

The Big Bang Theory is one of the most stiflingly unfunny sitcoms on television today, filled with unlikable stereotyped characters and stock sitcom plots that have been done multiple times (and much much better) by other shows in the genre.

I don't think this is an unpopular opinion. I don't know a single person that likes it.

"Once More With Feeling" is an overgimmicked, overrated pile of garbage and one of the weakest Buffy episodes ever. Angel's "Smile Time" did a similar thing, only good.
The Tim Burton Batman films are grossly overrated, and every bit as camp as the Joel Schumacher films that followed.

saying you don't like Avatar (the James Cameron film) is not an unpopular opinion, especially since that tit threw a bitchfit about a show coming first and using the title several years before he did.
yeah I'm not the biggest fan of James Cameron.

Even the best of it's wildlife documentaries (Life on earth, Planet Earth, The Blue planet etc)? Guess I should have been specific. I think that British sitcoms are vastly overrated. The reason many of them fail when they are adapted in America because they're not that good and/or have the benefit of not having to produce many episodes, Successful shows like Coupling(28 episodes), and Fawlty Towers(12 episodes). You are appealing to a much smaller audience. Instead, when these shows fail, it's either because the American audience isn't sophisticated enough or because the show was changed so much from it's original. Also, a point, not saying all Brit-coms are overrated, just the genre as a whole.

Yeah, I think online most people have the same opinion and reasoning for Big Bang Theory as you do (myself included). Offline though, a lot of my friends really like the show (though fortunately, my parents and brother do not).

The Happening is actually a pretty good film with a good premise spoilt by touches of stupidity.
