The praise for Mickey Rourke's "comeback" in "The Wrestler" was nauseating. He had been working consistently for years. It just so happens, it was in shitty movies because he destroyed his movie star looks through his own stupid decisions in life I think people have seem to forgotten what a arsehole and idiot Rourke has been over years. A few years ago he slagged off actors in Hollywood for their political views when he is last person who should be doing that as he donated money to freaking previonsal IRA in the late 80s.

Everyone is so worried about offending others, they keep their true thoughts to themselves, & lie through their teeth. It's one of the staples of the "pussification of America". No matter how shitty they are, every single band you have heard of has at least one good song that will get stuck in your head, regardless of your taste in music. (hums Bon Jovi's Runaway) Alomg those same lines, even your favorite bands have at least one song you can't stand, & will skip every time.

It is possible for a woman's breasts to be too big. In fact, it is actually kind of gross to see a woman with obviously enhanced breasts that are the size of watermelons. Ass, too. There is a huge difference between "Dat Ass" and "Fat Ass".

Just thought of something else that even I'm guilty of at times.
People feel the need to qualify things hey say with "in my opinion", or "to me". Of course its your opinion! Who the f*** else's would it be!?!?

- I literally couldn't care less that Breaking Bad is on right now. Yes, I have watched an episode. Matter of fact, I've watched a few; wasn't all that hot. - The Rock is a talking catchphrase. Yes, he's entertaining, but in-ring, he just feels shallow. Something about him doesn't measure up to, say, a Chris Jericho or a Kurt Angle - some of the exact same people we were supposed to believe he was miles better than.

I honestly have no idea what "the grain" is anymore.
The Internet has made it so that there really isn't much of a "mainstream" any longer; people are able to seek out almost any type of community they wish to be a part of, so there's no telling which "grain" some opinions might go against.
That said, I'm a fervent believer that the idea that America is being "pussified" is a completely fictional construct that has no basis whatsoever in reality. It's often a means of complaining about certain words no longer being considered proper for polite company, a trend that's existed since language was invented.

The constant closeup of women's body parts, especially when the head is cropped is beyond creepy to me.
Yep, that includes all those Pics and Gifs threads of the Divas.

That's where we disagree, but that's the point of the thread. The more I think about it though, I kind of agree with your first point. This thread should almost just be called random thoughts/opinions. Either way, good stuff in here. I'm done for the night. See ya on the flipside FAN

I do wonder if people on wrestling message boards who fancy themselves as anti-smarks and think the whole group of people on said boards are one, giant Borg hive-mind and they are the singular, unique snowflake know they themselves are smarks and part of the IWC?

I totally believe there are countless creatures in the ocean yet to be seen by human eyes-but not mermaids. The ocean's depths are not conductive to humanoid life. They are too cold and the pressure is too great-the only creatures that live at the ocean's deepest depths are invertebrates. If there was a life form with intelligence comparable to that of human beings living closer to the ocean's surface there would have been indications such as fossilized remains, the remnants of tools-and I tend to think that life with such an intelligence would have been driven to interact with the human race out of simple curiosity some time ago. There are no mermaids.
There is also no life on Mars. The atmosphere of Mars is also not conductive to life; there is no oxygen, no water, no vegetation-nothing. There may at one time have been life on mars-in the form of bacteria and single celled organisms, and perhaps even more significant, vertebrate life, but we will not know until such time as an excavation for fossils on the surface of Mars can be conducted. There is humanoid life on Mars and has never been, or again there would have been indications of it by now. Mars is lifeless.

- Baseball is boring and I firmly believe it's "America's Favorite Sport" because it holds the dream of you doing nothing but stand out in a field, picking your ass, and getting paid millions of dollars. I'd rather watch golf.
- I understand that the internet is a hate machine and it gives stupid reasons to hate something, but the white-knighting of stuff is just as bad. People don't like shit that you do and actually have valid reasons to do so? Sorry, that's NOT hating or trolling, get the f*** over it.
- I fail to see the benefits of staying out past midnight. I bet these are the same people that complain that they don't get enough sleep.

It's one of Bad Religion's best albums. "Anesthesia" and "(21st Century) Digital Boy" are classic tracks.

The word "gamer" needs to go away. We don't call people who read books "Readers", or people who watch TV "Watchers". Additionally, the video game community needs to police all of the dumb bullshit, misogyny, racism, and general ignorance if we ever want to be taken seriously in the real world. The idea that video games are a child's hobby is completely close-minded and antiquated, but people won't ever get over that stigma if they keep hearing about how you raped some dude in CoD the other night.
Oh, and another thing. Stop dismissing women's opinion about they're representation in video games as being "overly-PC" or that they just "aren't the target audience". This goes along with the misogyny statement, but it's just fresh in my mind since the whole Dragon's Crown thing, where a female reviewer got slammed for daring to say that she wasn't a fan of the female NPC's just being walking, talking f***-boxes. I can't tell you how many times I cringed watching commentator's (usually white males) saying that she just didn't understand, that it's just a power fantasy and it's not hurting anyone. Which I don't understand, since someone pretty clearly has a problem with it. I'm not a fan of Anita Sarkeesian, since mostly what I've seen is just pseudo-intellectual nonsense, but somebody has to bring up these issues.

There are no mermaids. Maybe I missed something, is there a recent movement of people who think mermen seriously exist?

The word "gamer" needs to go away. We don't call people who read books "Readers", or people who watch TV "Watchers". What? People who read books are called readers all the time (e.g., "I'm not much of a reader"), and movie fans are called movie buffs or cinephiles. The term "watchers" has never really caught on; maybe "TV fan" is closely to the term used. (There really isn't much of one, though. I'm not sure why.) What's so wrong with using a label that makes total sense? I mean, if you write, you're a writer. If you play guitar, you're a guitarist. If you practice law, you're a lawyer. If you play basketball, you're a basketball player.

-The word diva and princess being used as a positive. Women's rights activists didn't struggle to achieve equality for women, just so their children's children could piss it all away through these nauseating ass-backward labels and expectations. Celebrating or glorifying being high maintenance or being a "bitch" is ridiculous and insulting. The fact that there's TV shows and media that encourage and embrace it is deplorable.
