I agree, though I really don't like that term. It's become a catch-all to deride people for choosing to support someone or something that they really like. If they're big fans, so what? I personally think it's past being a big fan. Being a big fan is going to the show to see someone, buying some merchandise maybe purchasing a photo and an autograph and following their career. What a lot of fans seem to want to do is know these performers on a personal level and I've never quite understood it. It's also very very suspicious that these "big fans" generally only want personal interaction with hot female wrestling personalities and don't really care very much about the male wrestlers they're big fans of. In regards to getting to know a wrestler? I can't speak for others, but for me, besides the obvious "treating them like people," it's also an academic thing. As much as I love intelligent discussion, it's even nicer to hear from someone who is an expert in a field. Talking to them one-on-one, and soaking in their knowledge. Wrestling is no different. One of my favorite things I've ever done was just hear from a wrestler--a successful one--about how they work, how they act, what they hope fans glean from their performances, misconceptions people have about them, and what they hope others will glean. It was fascinating stuff, something that you simply cannot learn from any other source besides the wrestler. Wrestlers are artists, but unlike most big-name actors or famous musicians, these people can be iconic yet very easily accessible. And as artists, they often appreciate that kind of respect and interaction--if you can prove to them that you understand it. As far as the preference for female wrestlers, I do agree with you to a certain extent. Looks are going to have something to do with it. On the other hand, a lot of female wrestlers have reputations for being really nice people, whereas a lot of the dudes are snarky. It's also that a lot of female wrestlers--and I mean ones who can seriously wrestle--don't have many fans who take them seriously as performers, while most are interested in them solely for sex appeal. For them, it's a breath of fresh air to meet someone who actually is interested in what they've spent their whole lives doing, and treat them like human beings, and it makes them more open to conversation. How true is this for Reby? I'm not going to say anything accusatory because I don't know her, or how seriously she treats the various things she does. I'm not a fan and I don't find her interesting since she doesn't wrestle, but that doesn't mean other people can't. If they care enough about her that they think this is a good contribution, more power to them. Same for Matt's fans. I know straight guys who still idolize Matt and straight girls who strongly sympathize with Reby. Sexual attraction's not even part of the equation, but there you have it.

I think everyone is looking far to much into this. The site is CLEARLY meant for people going to the wedding for friends and family who may not make it. No where on that site states anything about fans to buy them stuff. Yes there is a registry for stuff but there is also a place to book your hotel room. The site itself tells there story on how they got together. It no where says from them "HEY FANS buy us stuff." It a wedding people no matter how much money you have it's only natural to give the newlyweds a gift. Just like when someone is having a baby.
Everyone is jumping all over them for something they clearly did not read about. If it was for fans to buy them stuff why would the links to book a hotel be there?

It's fine that they're doing it I guess. But it's kind of sad and pathetic that it happens, but this is what the world has come to. Even the rich and famous aren't really rich anymore.
It's like if Matt started wrestling in high school gyms. He's still Matt Hardy-one time WWE Superstar, but strip away the glitz and he's a regular guy and that's not what celebrity should be about. We shouldn't be seeing this side of the curtain.

Thank you because that what my point. People are taking it way out of proportion. As for as we know. This may have been a link for an e-mail but someone found it and released it. No site meant for fans to send gifts would have a hotel information to book a room. Some tried to argue with me over that. But come on think logic.

If people are dumb enough to buy em gifts, I can't fault em for preying on that, scummy as it is.

So why not create a private Facebook page for out of state guests and people who cannot make it to the wedding? Also, there was rumbling about the site being created to ask fans in a round about way to chip in for the wedding. Not surprising considering that she was asking fans for gifts for Valentine's Day over twitter. Don't forget season 1 and 2 of Haven

This usually happens when the wrestlers in question live their gimmick 24/7. Also, when the female wrestler in question continue to act like she's a single woman and always use sex and sexual innuendo to interact with fanboys, the suspicion is warranted. Porn stars and Indy wrestling chicks (not a lot of difference sometimes) Tweet their amazon wish lists all the time. These fanboys always get taken for being dumb And Reby is both, albeit it was print porn that she did. She got called out for asking fans to buy her stuff from her Amazon list in the past.

Nobody still can defend that. There could be a rumble about it being created for that reason but prove that it was is a different thing. There was nothing on that site that said any of what people are claiming. If you can't make it fine buy a gift if you are out of town but can make it. You get the hotel room. Yet nobody seems to understand that part. Who to say everyone has a facebook to begin with. Not everyone does.

Also, The Hotel is easily explained. The Hotel would have a list of the people invited to get the room package deal so if anyone else tried to book in under the Hardy name they'd be denied. Sure, People could book a room for normal room rates but who is really booking a hotel room and trying to enter a wedding that they're not invited too? It's CLEARLY a cash grab from the loyal Hardy and Sky fans. Fan girls will buy Matt gifts and fan boys will buy Reby gifts.

And about the hotel, this is were mailed invitations comes into play. The hotel discount info and gift registry info would have been included in the mailed invitation or sent via text message.

I am going to send Reby one free "sex with Big Bad Z" coupon. It won't cost me any money but may cost a huge chunk of my dignity since Matt will probably want to watch....

What a fan wants to do is what a fan wants to do. I'm much more okay with this than selling your used wrestling gear.

Someone needs to send Matt a life sized Kane cut out for old times sake, he can be the best man.
