That Christian career video package

So well put together. I can see them recycling that if Christian was ever to go in the HOF. That 3 minute video did more to build him up for his World Title match than any promo ever could. Amazing stuff.

I don't know if that was supposed to make us think that he was retiring or not, but whenever Christian actually retires for real...the ONE MORE MATCH chant will be off the f***ing charts.

Loved it. I love archive footage being shown in video packages, so to see his tag run, IC chase in 03/04, the Cena stuff in 05, the ECW stuff in 09 and the WHC win so well put together was incredible. Reminded me of the Desire videos they used to do in 02/03, that I miss dearly.

EDIT: It's a shame WWE doesn't own TNA footage as that would have completed it and made it an even more epic package with his run there.

It made me happy to see such a well put together feature on Christian but not nearly as happy as him actually having some sort of interaction with Del Rio. I mean, seriously, this is the first time they've interacted in this whole feud outside of facing each other in matches. How backwards is that?

Hopefully they get a lot of time on SmackDown to build up the feud even more because even as a Christian fan it's hard to get excited about him when he's not giving the chance to show any personality. I love watching the guy wrestle as much as anyone but he's such a strong promo guy when they give him the chance and instead he's just been generic babyface #3472 since he returned.

I honestly don't think Christian is an if, I think he's a when. He's not a headliner, but he's had a career on the HoF level as WWE defined it.

As I've mentioned before, I've always felt for a guy who has been around as long as he has, he's always been one of the most underutilized. The dude is top 5 in the company in terms of how much he can go in the ring when given the opportunity and unfortunately, they've been playing down his mic skills in the last couple years, even though he can clearly cut promos like it's no one's business.

I'll say this, even though it's likely that he'll lose on Sunday, I think it would be more beneficial to WWE to have him win and be the fighting champion he was on ECW. Hell, if I had it my way, I'd have him hold it until Wrestlemania, where he faced WWE Champion Daniel Bryan and Royal Rumble winner CM Punk in a triple threat match for title unification, a match where seemingly everyone has something to gain.

They'd did the best they could with it, that's for sure. It doesn't really make me want the match any more than I did before though. Waaaaaay too haphazard to really make a dent for me.

Crappy song though.

And "One More Match" didn't really come around until after he lost that cage match on the Super duper Smackdown show, his last shot at the title against Orton. From there Christian really started to do fun stuff with the character, rather than just be whiny and lame and lose all the time. Well, he still lost all the time because, well, it's Christian after all.
