lol. They're terrible in the ring. What is this the late 90's again? Having the top stars be the most popular performers? Perish the thought! Why, it's almost as though "workrate" is an arbitrary standard that's meaningless to the majority of WWE's audience! It matters more now than ever, for 2 main reasons. 1. A larger percentage than ever of fans are into analyzing who's good at what they do, rather than only following the narrative. Bcause kayfabe died/internet/etc. 2. There's not that many great, big-time personalities around anymore. I don't know how or why that changed, but it's true. In the Bellas example, it's not like they're these really charismatic ladies who aren't very good in the ring, like twin female Ultimate Warriors. They're bad actresses even by wrestling standards, portray a 1 dimensional played out archetype, get zero crowd reaction, and they're BORING. They're not anymore colorful or more interesting than the other girls (arguably less), and most of them are better at having an entertaining match, which isn't the be-all-end-all but it does mean something.

The Bellas managed to get to the top by being on the bottom.
Probably face down.

The Bellas aren't even that popular. That distinction goes to AJ and Kaitlyn. So it's not just workrate where AJ/Kaitlyn have the Bellas beat. Kaitlyn is not popular. For all the crap that some like Kelly Kelly gets, Kaitlyn has been the most forced fed diva since well the Bella's.

I find it fascinating that WWE has actually found two distinct audiences that for the most part are not crossing over. The women who watch E! by and large aren't then tuning into RAW, and outside a small percentage, most male RAW viewers aren't watching Total Divas. WWE has actually managed to create an actual brand extension.

Too bad it's another trashy Real Housewives carbon copy...

Good for the Bellas, they don't get enough respect obviously from reading the negative posts in this thread.

WWE has actually managed to create an actual brand extension. Wasn't thinking about it before but now that you mention it, this seems to very much be the case. What's even more peculiar is that WWE's attempts to market Total Divas to wrestling fans and market Raw to non-wrestling fans have very much failed. And yet, this show is still climbing in the ratings.
